I'm with my currently employer for 15 years now. Just recently, a new job opportunity showed up, and I applied for it.

With that said, is it a good/bad idea to change my employer, while in the process of the K1?

Currently I received my NOA2, and paperwork is sitting with the NVC, and we are just waiting like everyone else.

Immigration does not require you to stop living your life and improving upon it when opportunities present

YMMV

I know that. Morally, it makes sense.

But looking at it from a K1 Application perspective:

  1. "if" i got this job, I would be changing my employer. The application would need to be updated because it wouldn't be up to date. Would this be ground for a RFE?
  2. We all know that jobs at a start, most of the time, are probationary. Usually 3 months. With the affidavit of support, I'm saying to the goverment, that I'm relatively safe with my current job, and make X amount of income. With a new job, I would be at more risk because I'm under probation. Whether or not I make more income, my ability to "provide financial backing" for my fiance becomes a question now, or at least that's what I think.

With those 2 things said, I go back to my original question, can anyone with actual experience shed light on if me getting a new job during the K1 process is a good/bad idea?

What matters most is the income on the I-134.  If this is a better job for you and an increase in income then I wouldn't hesitate to change.

The petition does not need to be adjusted.   It was filed at a point in time

I changed jobs three times during my petition period

YMMV
