That was the point of this post. Apparently bringing the 1040 and W2 to the interview isn't enough per the consulate in HCMC. They are issuing the blue forms for us to upload the 1040, W2, and new i864 with 2019 tax year to CEAC. I was planning on having my wife bring my 1040 and W2 as well, but the information I'm receiving i that they are now requiring more than that.

Interesting.  I suspect I'm a few months out from them scheduling our interview since we were DQ June 15 so hopefully I can download the transcript for 2019 before the interview.

It definitely is consulate specific.  Are these people getting blue slips after bringing 2019 tax documents to the interview?  or are these people who have brought 2018 tax documents to the interview?

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

That's what I was asking my wife this morning. She said that because of COVID and IRS delays then some people aren't paying taxes. So the consulate wants to make sure people are paying taxes. I double checked with her and she said they did not bring 2019 transcript OR 1040/W2 with them to the interview. So now they were given the 221g RFE and are now required to upload the documents to CEAC(as far as I can tell, Vietnamese doesn't translate well and her understanding of the tax system here is definitely understandably lacking, then combine it with the immigration system and a global pandemic... so with her translating what people are saying sometimes details are missed).  For now, I'm not going to reupload forms and plan on having her bring them to her interview, and hope 2019 transcript is ready by then as well.

That's what I suspected.  I think you will be fine with either 2019 tax return or transcript at the interview..........Of course, take a transcript if possible.

I  I can't get the tax transcripts since I live in Vietnam and don't have a US cell phone number.  We haven't been scheduled for an interview yet, though.

For what it is worth, I was in the same boat.  I was able to get the code to sign up on the website mailed to my address in the US without a US phone number.  My mom picked up my mail and read the login code to me and I was able to get my transcripts.

Alternatively, ou also can have a tax professional get the transcripts for you.  I'm glad I did because I got my 2018 transcript and in two weeks I'll be able to get my 2019 transcript since they will want it when I interview later this year.  I filed my taxes online July 10 and they said 2-4 weeks before the transcript will be posted.

You MAY be ok with the full tax filing with the W2 or 1099's but they will want 2019 now that July 15 is past.  I just don't know if they will let it go so I did it the standard way.

Sorry I wasn't clear, I already had turned in with 2019.

From what I can see mine was fully accepted with the 1040/etc.
