Hoping to tap into the collective wisdom of the group. Both my parents are in the NVC stage and I am trying to get them Documentarily Qualified. Got an update a few days ago as each had a rejection

Mom: NVC asked for additional criminal/police record documentation for one of the countries they've lived in. Note that in my dad's file, the same document was submitted in his application and it was accepted without issue.

Dad: NVC asked for an updated criminal/police record for the country that they currently live in. Note that in my mother's file, the same document submitted in her application and it was accepted without issue.

Looking for some advice on how to respond

Option 1) Add only the docs requested for each file. Don't add anything other than what they asked for.

Option 2) In Mom's case, also add the updated criminal/police record for the country they currently live in, even though it was only asked for in my father's file. In my dad's case, add in the additional criminal/police record documentation asked for in mom's request, even though it was only asked for in mom's file.

I am leaning towards Option 1 and just bring the updated documentation to the interview just in case. Does anyone know if they're likely to go back on previously accepted documents and ask for the same things on both applications? Would just submitting the extra docs invite more scrutiny and lengthen the process?

Advice appreciated!

Option 1

Thanks. That's what I ended up doing, then got an update to my father's case this morning asking for the doc that was asked for in my mother's case! Submitted that. Wondering if they'll end up asking for vice versa on my mother's case also.

Guess i'll wait and see - but nice to see they looked at the case quickly after I responded.
