I received an email with my NOA2, and I checked the site today and was touched after the NOA2 approval. The email said they send my NOA2 on a few days before my email came. So I am wondering if they shipped it to NVC today? I am so used to being able to check the status online, and I am clueless now. wacko.gif

I have seen people's timelines showing what day it was mailed to NVC, What day NVC received, What day NVC sent to consulate, and what day the consulate received it. How do you track this information? Is this using the same USCIS site? I read about people checking with DHL or something, how do they know which is there packet? Thisngs have been moving so fast for me and I hope the luck continues cool.gif

Thanks for the help

We found out when our petition made it to the NVC, because by good fortune we happpened to call the day it arrived.

This is our timeline from that part of the process, how we tracked things is highlighted in bold:

August 18, 2004 - NOA2 received by mail (we were approved August 12)

August 23, 2004 - petition on its way from NVC to Montreal! (we called them and found out)

August 25, 2004 - letter (dated Aug 23) from NVC to Jerry telling him that our petition will be on its way to Montreal "within a week"

August 25, 2004 - our stuff is in Montreal, judging by the date on the Pkg 3 letter

August 26, 2004 - Package 3 sent from Montreal

K-1 petitions get shipped in batches from the service centre to NVC, so depending on the schedule, your petition could be there now, or a couple weeks from now. If you call the NVC number, K-1 cases do not show up on the automated system, so you have to talk to an operator to get any information.

Most people (the USCs) will get a letter from NVC stating that the petition has arrived and will be sent on its way to <insert your applicable consulate here> within the week or so. Others get surprised when they hear from the consulate. ;)

You won't be able to track your petition anymore online, since you are now dealing with the State Department and not USCIS.

NVC does not have online tracking system like USCIS. But, you can certainly call NVC at 1-603-334-0700 and find out if they have recieved your case. Case transfer from USCIS to NVC takes some time.. So, I would wait atleast two weeks after NOA2 to call NVC, and talk to the operator.
