not if they are furloughed / i figure they will be the first to go as they are paid with USCIS fees but the embassy budget

Consulate officers work for the department of state and are not being furloughed.   You are confusing with what is happening at the uscis

but USCIS is asking for 1.2 billion to stay afloat/  has Congress acted on this yet?  suppose to meet this week to discuss this issue of bailing out immigration so we'll see

USCIS is one of the 7 areas under Homeland Security which is under  DOS

Hahaha.  Dont let the Secretary of DHS read this. 

 

 DHS and DOS are both cabinet level departments.   The secretaries of each department report directly to the president himself.

I have not heard any word on the progress of that request.

Incorrect. USCIS is part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The Department of State (DOS) is literally a separate department of the government. One is not under the other.
