I guess what I'm getting at is do you think that there should be different criteria in the next round of PPP? If so, what would they be? Who should benefit first? Or should it be first come, first serve again with the same criteria?

I can't disagree, but I will venture an estimation of my own:

 

It's a dog whistle. 

 

The left will ignore it, might even agree with it, but they don't care about this. How is it a dog whistle then? It's a dog whistle to everyone else. 

 

Think about it for a second. What do you see the most on conservative pundit sites and social media accounts? Outrage, about everything the left does, like this. Garbage in, garbage out. Do you act on every single outrage piece? No, you're desensitized to it because of how much you read/hear about it. The brain says, this is run of the mill. Ahh, the deranged left and their media are acting dumb again.. next. 

 

There's a psychological condition people call in layman's terms "analysis paralysis", where you're inundated with so much information on something and the personal choice of whether to act, how to act, etc., you simply don't act, are overwhelmed with the sheer scale of choices you're just paralyzed. The brain just says don't act at all, I have no idea what the hell to do. 

 

Because the general public doesn't know how to compartmentalize, or what I call "logic filter", analysis paralysis and desensitization together lead people to simply not react sufficiently to actual threats. And that, my friends, is the point. Paralyze people. The same way overwhelming people with cognitive dissonance can lead to desired outcomes in weak people, bombarding them with dog whistles that conservative outrage monetizers can't pass up leads to people thinking these republic destroying actions by the left aren't threats. Ahh, the deranged left and their media are acting dumb again.. next.

I had a very woke co worker tell me how bad it is in America now. So I asked, you mean we went that far down 3.5 years?

 

This is the same co worker who told me the riots happened becuse the police let them riot to make black people look bad 

 

He then tells me the only thing we are number 1 at is Corona virus. Then went on to tell me we lead the world in Corona cases.

I tried to explain,  although we had a serious problem  that number was misleading becuse what should be ranked is percentage not total.

 

Yet do you hardly ever see a headline that reports it correctly.

I work for a small family law firm (less than 12 employees) and we were not successful the first time applying for PPP (the money ran out SO fast) but they were able to get a loan during the second round of loans. 

 

All of our courthouses here in Alabama were shut down completely for nearly 2 months, so our business came to a complete standstill during that time. We're very thankful we managed to get that loan, because it allowed the partners to make sure we were all still getting paid - even our hourly part-time employees. 

 

Also, I don't know if this applies to all of the loans, but ours is forgivable as long as various conditions are met (such as retaining employees, maintaining rate of pay, not misusing the funds, etc).

Well, it's all about your point of view. It's not misleading because "conspicuous" doesn't really have an objective definition. If it said "Here's the 6 highest cap companies who got money" or "Here are the top 6 amounts paid out to companies" those have objective definitions. "Conspicuous" means whatever it means to the author and the reader. You can agree or disagree. It's not "news" any more than a Buzzfeed listicle is "news." For example:

I really hope forgiveness is extremely limited, especially to large corporations. I hear the interest on these are like 1% annual, which might explain why so many that don't need it might be taking it anyways. Because why not? If you can't pay it, its "forgiven". If you can, and stay in business, 1% is a sweetheart deal and a huge boost to revenue generating assets. With the taxpayer as your business collateral, and a better loan than you'd likely find on the market, you'd be stupid not to.

Our company too it. It was my understanding that if you used a certain amount for employees pay benefits. you dont have to pay it back.

Oh yeah, for sure. Except the lobbying firms run by old Obama staffers, of course. And I don't really think we can pigeonhole Kanye as anything. After all, none of us can see inside his head, even Kim K, who would know best if there were holes in it you could see into.
