Drug Testing and expired medical exam in Morocco

Hello!

I'm not sure that anyone can help me as I'm not sure there are people who have been through this situation and my consulate that are still on here. I'm sure there are plenty of people who can pass judgement, but I am really just looking for help not condemnation. :)

My fiance has to undergo drug testing. It's the standard protocol for the area of 4 tests, every 3 months. The problem is my fiance is being told by the receptionist at doc office, that the doctor said he will need a new medical exam because his is expired. She made it seem like he will be required to have a new medical now even though it will expire before he finishes his testing protocol. I am aware he will need to do one again at the end of the process, for the visa. It just seems a lot ridiculous for the doctor to require one now when it cannot be used for the visa because he won't have finished the testing protocol. I'm not sure if there is just confusion with what the doctor told the receptionist. I'm hoping this is the case.

Does anyone know if you need to have a valid medical exam throughout the whole drug testing process? It would be nice not to spend the money on that and then have to redo it.

Thanks for the read and the help.

Can you please clarify was it the official medical (for immigration) that required he do the drug testing or is it her regular doctor?

Your timeline says he already had the interview ; so I'm a bit confused.

He already had his interview and original medical test. He has a year ban and needs to complete drug testing before visa can be issued. All testing and medical is done with embassy approved doctor.

A new medical would be needed after the year prior to issuing a visa.

I wouldn't think a new one would be required during the drug screening.

Thank you for clarifying. I would call back the doctor to clarify; because he will need a new medical after his initial expired and/or when he is finished with the drug testing to make sure he is clean.. Highly suggest reaching back out to clarify because it doesn't make sense to get one now and then a few months from now...

Unforunately you are at the hands of Moroccan drs approved by Casa for the drug tests

and they can ask for a whole new medical exam /  they seem to make up the rules as they go along

right now ,  they are calling people to come in for a new medical exam even though the embassy is not ready to do in any interviews yet

they have lost money during this pandemic and seem to be trying to drum up business

that sounds harsh but my Moroccan husband has no faith in the practices there

a whole new medical exam would not normally be required till the new interview is scheduled

but if you want to get thru this phase,  you are at the mercy of the ones making the rules

make sure you get your money's worth out of this and any other medical exams,  get all your shots and  record of them / make them show you the chest xray so you know you are clear of TB or damage from smoking

That is what I am worried about. The embassy previously told us to talk to the doctor for what to do from here. So I fear that he will just say to redo the medical now because he likes money. Morocco is a special case. He has his records from the same doctor of all his shots and previous medical. So he will just bring those and inshallah the doctor will be having a good day and be reasonable.

Update: He was made to take a whole new medical that will expire before he can even get his visa!

DO NOT GO TO Dr. Janah Abdelaziz

I am not one to complain about providers or situations. But this really has been terrible. He was not even allowed to see the doctor or talk to him to know why he was being required to retake the medical instead of just do drug testing. The office speaks no English, unlike what is posted on the embassy website. When my fiance asked why he had to do the medical over, the doctor told him that he is doing his job and he knows his job better than my fiance.

that's weird.. anyway the doctor is obligated to tell his patient everything related to him and his health... why didn't you just do a drug test by yourselves?

The embassy has requirements. It’s not a do your own thing and let us know how it goes sort of thing.

Firstly, everything that regards the patient's health should be discussed between the doctor and the patient, the doctor has no right to make decisions on his own. Secondly, you really could have done the test at home so you wouldn't have to wait. My friend had a similar situation and he decided to do the test at home with a confirmed test from confirmbiosciences.com that his doctor recommneded him. So he did it and the results where the same as the one taken at the court. Anyway, good luck to you!

I’m not sure if this post is facetious or not. 🤔 Again, the tests for the visa cannot be done at home.

I do agree with your first point. But unfortunately Morocco doesn’t always work in the way that things should.
