Page 11 on the i944 instructions state “Foreign education should include an evaluation of equivalency to education or degrees acquired at accredited colleges, universities, or educational institutions in the United States. For a list of organizations that provide equivalency evaluation, see the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), at http://www.naces.org/members.htm.”

Some people on here have just sent in their diplomas, degrees, and transcripts. I guess if you’re willing to take that risk and save yourself a few hundred bucks then go for it and not include one. But to me, the instructions are pretty straight forward in regards to an equivalency evaluation. We are just waiting for my husband’s evaluation to come in the mail so we can turn in his application, then we will (hopefully) be joining the July thread.

Yeah I decided to do it as well to be Safe. I did pay 100$ for the rushed service, so I can get the report next week

or perhaps because we put things in the wrong order. its so vague haha. did any one else get this before?

I got the exact same letter. It might have been because I put them in 2 different envelopes inside the USPS box. I checked all forms and they are updated. I just went ahead and resubmitted the same packet last Monday with an updated cover letter and new credit card approval forms. As per USPS tracking, they received it last Sunday at 8pm (got delayed as it was supposed to arrive there by Wednesday). I hope it will be accepted without any issues this time 🤞

I did too, ended up being $235 total with rush delivery from AES. Wish I would have been smart and ordered it a month ago and saved myself the $100 rush delivery lol.

EDIT: just got an email from AES. We ordered the equivalency evaluation on a Thursday with rush delivery and according to tracking email we just got, it’s expected to be here tomorrow (Wednesday) from Florida to California. Hope that helps somebody who is researching equivalency evaluation options.

I'm a US Citizen now, sent the package for my parents on July 10th. I was nervous about not hearing anything so I called USCIS today and was able to get all receipt numbers for both of my parents. I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131. Just call and provide some details and they should be able to help!

Was it RFE or deficiency notice?

I-693_Notice_1.png

There's a difference.

Hi, If I am not mistaken, this is a Courtesy letter. You need to bring a sealed I-693 to the interview. In case your interview is waved, they will send you an RFE

In your other post you said "Received RFE" and "I did submit report with my package." So you already sent in a sealed and completed I-693. Correct? If so, it's valid for 2 years if it was signed "No more than 60 days before" I-485 was filed: https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-8-part-b-chapter-4

Hi, I got my I-693 report approx 55 days before I shipped my package, as I was working on other documents. I had a feeling I was cutting too close.

Is deficiency letter bad? Did I interpret it correctly?
