That's around 2 weeks ago. They reached out with an email asking me to fax the documents over after about a week.

I faxed the following:

  • short cover letter succinctly explaining the situation
  • job offer letter
  • my parent's medical expenses (not HUGE but still hundreds per month)
  • the original notice that they sent you

You should be able to fax documents online or at any print shop. Let me know if you need any more information!

Did they give you your SSN?  My wife also received her green card before her EAD and AP were approved.  I wasn't sure if USCIS was going to send the approval to the SS office or not.  I was going to wait a week to see if anything arrived in the mail.

I had to apply for the SSN. Since the option to automatically get the SSN is part of the form I765 (EAD), not the form I485, you shouldn't expect that the USCIS will send the SS Administration your information.

I still didn't get the number, will receive the card within 2 weeks.
