Our biometrics notice was a code 2, but they did code 3 fingerprints.

I had the same experience. I went for my i765 apt yesterday I asked and they said they couldn’t but I’d get my next apt for the code 3 in the mail. I called USCIS and they told me that they placed a request so I should get it soon.

im not too worried! The USCIS field office where I am is very understaffed right now and have hardly any appointments a day.

@SusnOwen Thanks, that is great!

Did you show them any notice of receipt? How did you managed to get the code 3 with a code 2 letter?

My husband didn't ask for anything different, just showed them his letter - But they did the code 3 - It may just be the standard process at our facility, who knows - I didn't realize there were different codes until reading on VJ, so I definitely checked and quizzed him about what prints they did.

@Sinead91 Thank you for sharing your experience! :) My wife just received her I-765  (Code 2) biometrics appointment in the mail today for 10/30. Do you think I should call USCIS too, so they can place a request before the appointment?

They should do all of it automatically to be honest. I’m going to call back in two weeks if I don’t get my appointment :)

I'd definitely do that. We assumed that ASC would be understanding and will take Code 3 bio anyways (We only got Code 2 for our i-765).  Now we never know when we will get our bio appointment for i-485.

@MNH Ok I will definitely do that. Do you or @Sinead91 have the phone number to call USCIS?

Quick google search 😉 +1-800-375-5283

wait times are long sometimes so be prepared to be on hold.

if your spouse is a service member there is a separate line for them and it tends to be quicker
