NOA1 Received: 08/18/2020

Did you get the notice for code 3 (for I485) before you went back? We haven't got that yet.

Annoyingly I got it originally at the same time as Code 2 but the receptionist at the ASC didn't read it properly and so they only took Code 2... File under "the many ways USCIS makes this harder every step of the way..."

A magical mystery tour of many US visas prior to AOS... (J-1, F-1, H-1B)

Timeline

Guys, Today I received in the mail the NOAs of my family based AOS. The NOAs for I-130, I-485, I-765, and I-131.  In this regard, my timeline is as follows:

• Package sent on 07/31/2020.

• Package received by USCIS on 08/03/2020.

• I-130 check cashed on 08/28/2020.

• I-485 check cashed on 09/01/2020.

• NOA1 for I-130, I-485, I-765, and I-131 received in the mail on 09/11/2020

As you can see guys, both checks were cashed within the 4th and 5th week from the filing date. And it took 42 days from the filing date, for the NOAs to arrive in the mail.

I hope you get your RFE sorted soon, too :)

Just a bit different question but how do you guys occupy yourself during the time when we wait for EAD card? I miss working! :(

I have been learning how to cook hahaha. Never cooked when I was in my country, so this has been a challenge but I'm doing pretty good hahaha. Also watching Netflix (never watched so many movies in one week), reading, working out, puzzles, drawing, felting, etc...

And I'm going to start volunteering some days per month in one of the museums here. Probably you could find volunteering opportunities near you.

I'm worried that when I get my EAD, I'll be so used not to work and sleep until late hahaha... This is a challenge for all of us!

Same! I could do anything fried before I got married but now, surprisingly, I can cook decent American/ Spanish/ Filipino dishes :) When I'm not doing chores, I'm binging on HGTV shows. LOL

I miss working too! I've been seeing job opening on linkedin and indeed which are aligned with my profession and I wanted to apply so bad. Haha!

I also cook, workout, run, hike (but LA's poor air quality right now makes me stick to indoor workouts), help with my sis in-law's airbnb, we also have furr babies here so atleast it takes aways some boredom. You can try taking some online certification also from Google Digital Garage :)

It's been almost 2 mos. Now since I applied for AOS and the last thing I received from them was the deficiency notice for medical. No biometrics yet.

After sending an updated I-864, I haven't heard anything from USCIS as well. I feel like July applications are at a standstill. August filers are moving, though. It makes me wonder if they are just doing the initial checking, cashing payments and sending NOAs then putting everything else on hold 😔
