Anyone who used check to pay the fees. Do you see image of the check in your bank account? I usually get to see the check image in my chase account but for USCIS bank is telling me that USCIS cashed the check but didn't provided bank with the images yet.

I was hoping to get the receipt numbers from the back side of the check.

That's interesting. Thanks for sharing. I guess i just need to wait for the text/email notification from USCIS. The check shows cashed on Aug 14th.

You can also give them a call, that’s how I got my receipt numbers

Do you know after how many days USCIS usually send text/email notifications ?

I never got my text at all, I only got impatient and called to inquire. It was completely by chance they happened to have mailed my noa1 mailed Aug 12.

Usually 1 to 3 days after they cash/charge, you'll receive the texts. Mine was 2 days after they charged our credit card. Then 2 days after, the mail came.

I finally got the receipt from USCIS today!! Oddly they send messages on Sundays. I got my receipt for I130 and I485 (didn't apply for EAD and 131). Now waiting for the mail to come.

My timeline:

sent out package 7/28

received and signed by Chicago office 7/29

A text message of receipt 8/16

Any specific reason why you didn't apply for EAD

I read a post somewhere else saying that she didn't apply for EAD and I131 and because of that her case got approved in three month. It might be other reasons that her case moved faster but I just thought I'd try that out. If it doesn't work out I guess it's fine to not have a job for five months until the greencard comes.

Unfortunately I have no idea...Mine was cashier's check and I lost my customer copy. When I went to the bank they told me that they couldn't provide the info without the copy. So I was just waiting...

BTW when I got the receipt number today and checked on USCIS, it said my I130 was received on July 29th and I485 was on Aug 11th. Weird it took them so long to send me the receipt.

The cases are separated after the initial lockbox stage. Thus, not filing them doesn't positively or negatively affect I-485 processing. I recommend to file them after you receive the paper I-485 receipt notice by mail. They will still be free to file with a photocopy of that receipt notice.
