Minor living in US with GC parents, not a USC .

Hi:

 

A couple friends of my wife are GC holders. They both will most likely not ever turn USC, because of being careless and not passing the citizenship test. The husband, basically does not even speak English after being here 3 years and refuses to learn it (in my opinion). The mother (who knows?) what the deal is there. All this aside, they have a daughter, born in their native country, when could she possibly turn USC, if the parents never naturalize? She is only 13 and has been in the US for 5+ years now. 

 

Would being a permanent resident for 5 year to become a USC, apply to minors also?

 

Just asking on behalf of the kid. Thanks. Saw them the other day and this talking point came to light.

She can apply as a Green card holder when she turns 18 and she will have to take the test and naturalize that way like everyone else.

She needs to be 18 years old then she can file her own N400.
