Also everyone on FT was highly advising against renewing passport due to the 3 million plus backlog, also some people’s applications have been lost.

All, a quick update. I applied for my passport at my local USPS office on July 22 an d guess what? My passport was issued in less than a week and is already on its way to me (Expected delivery is on Aug 3). I kid you not, this was the tracking info I have been receiving. I will provide a fresh update once I have it in hand.

I am not sure everyone's application will have the same resolution, but it looks like they are moving pretty efficiently. This should help you decide whether you want to go for it now or would rather wait for Phase 3 reopening. @Henry357, FYI
