I got charged the application fee but haven't received a receipt or appointment notice. My green card expires on 7/18/2020. I'm really worried about having an expired immigration document.

Are you adjusting status or removing conditions? Your post is in the AOS section. When did you submit your documents? If you haven’t received your NOA1 and it has been more than 30 days I suggest reaching out.

Seems like ROC

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

As Luckycuds stated, if it has been over 30 days and you have not received a notice then you need to inquire. 
 

As for your green card, if you are not looking for a new job then you will be fine. If you are looking for a new job you can use your social security card and a drivers license. If you need to travel, your notice once you receive it, will extend the expiration of your green card for 18 months. The notice and your expired green card will serve as proof of your residency as a LPR. If you need to travel after the 18 month extension and no action has been taken you will have to make an appointment to get an I-551 stamp.

Aug 28, 2018 (Day 23): Biometrics Appt

May 06, 2019 (Day 274): In Line For Interview

Jun 11, 2019 (Day 311): Interview Date

July 01, 2019 (Day 327) : Oath Ceremony I AM NOW A US CITIZEN!!!!

Your timeline is out of date, but it appears you are removing conditions....not adjusting status.....

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
