I’m not sure why people assume other countries have easier immigration than the US.   I would think Turks and Caicos Island, a British Overseas island and tax haven, has fairly hard immigration for non millionaires.

That may be true, I wasn't saying it was easier to immigrate there than America, I don't know if it is or not.  I would think its safe to assume it would be easier than America in the OPs current situation, that was my point.

Or they can go home.  Why would you stay married to someone who isn’t when willing to sign the AOS?

Due to pandemic all courts was closed and divorce process not fast. And we are not separated for 1 year our marriage get complicated 9 months after our wedding date.

It’s on the paper ICE gave it to me when I was arrested. It says they saw me on the ICE system called CrimeMe something like that. Yes they can see when an illegal immigrant  involved some kind of crime or complaint. That’s how ICE got most people. At the court.

for ICE to know you were out of status and an illegal alien,  someone had to report you

you really need to know the extent of that complaint to ICE

ICE has no mercy and no joke. They like a pit bull. Once they got you you are done. They didn’t let me go even with bail. And I have no criminal background nothing. First time in my life I had issues with police because of my wife. And the detention facility in Newark “Essex County Correctional Facility “ was like a nightmare they treat people like animal. Doesn’t matter you are criminal or not!

It is no joke to break the American laws and that is why you got that kind of treatment

Immigration rules are laws and Federal laws at that

ICE has no way to just try to find over 9 million illegals here /someone had to report you / that is how they work

Any overstay is a criminal background. They don’t need any more reason than that to detain you. What were you expecting? The Ritz-Carlton?

There is no deadline but if you overstay you are in unlawful presence. Unlawful presence is subsequently excused for immediate relatives of USCs, once they have received a receipt notification for the AOS package until the AOS application is adjudicated. That’s the part you missed.

I personally wouldn’t. And I would have left. But I came here for love, not a green card. If the love is over, so is my time here. But not everyone sees it that way.

It’s illegal to overstay. You overstayed. You broke the law. I don’t know how else to say it to you.

Yes it’s illegal but that doesn’t mean I have a criminal background in US

Then why do you need a waiver to be admitted into the US?

Unlawful presence in the US is not a crime, but a punishable violation of federal immigration law. And there is a record on such violations that remains for life.

Yes but it’s not a criminal record. It’s an immigration record. I didn’t enter the us illegally crossing the border. That’s a crime.

I was referring to targeting American women for the sole purpose of getting immigration benefits....

It happens and they look especially for the lonely / easy to do as the first thing a woman would write is "i am alone here that is why i am online "  Sorry to say they set themselves up and believe almost anything if a person says " l love you"  that is one of the reasons CO check to see the length of time before a foreigner asks to visit me or marry me like the recent poster who was denied when asked How long he knew her before asking to marry.  Immigration does know but they have no fix for stupid
