Masks Will Save Lives!  (Fact Check: Mostly False)

Ted Noel  |  Posted: Jul 03, 2020 1201 AM

Almost every MSM "expert" is loudly and proudly claiming that if you wear a mask in public, you'll save lives.  In fact, by wearing a mask, you are probably endangering your own life.  [...]

I often wonder about the N95 masks I see some people wearing.  We are told to wear masks to keep from transmitting the Chinese Bat Flu to someone else if we happen to be asymptomatic, but does the N95 mask filter the exhaled air, or just the incoming air?

I'm sure all these guys who say masks don`t help would be wearing them if they were going to be around someone who was known to be positive and coughing all over.

I thought the CDC was saying the masks do not protect us much from catching the Covid, but is helpful from passing it along to others.  In fact, I believe you have said on a couple of occasions when this whole thing started to balloon, that wearing masks was not very effective in protecting someone from catching it unless it was an N95, or more effective mask.

I'd say a lot depends on the individual wearer and the fit of the mask to their face, but when I had an N95 mask, it sealed better to my face when inhaling, and released the seal when exhaling.  I could feel the air I expelled blowing out around the mask on my face.

Here we are in July, have gone out to places all the time, since late April have seen people with masks all over, a lot less in the last few weeks, but I've never worn them. No false sense of security can take away from better choices. When people sit there and glorify Asians wearing masks as if the mask is some sort of divine intervention, they clearly ignore the actions they're engaged in that are far more important to limiting the spread of things. They're wearing gloves, not sticking their hands all over their faces, properly covering themselves (in their arm and not hands) when needing to cough or sneeze. If there's anything the lazy populace should be taking from this its the individual responsibility one has. Naturally, pretty much none of the media are promoting rationality, which is precisely why any "rational" person ignores the media, along with hysteria, or those who think it might be fine to behave like a one year old flinging body fluids everywhere. I know calm, cool, and normal isn't in-demand in this sort of polarized environment, but its still my preference.

I tend to agree with your or maybe it was ballz or maybe both, assessment that the problem is not using them properly. I see some of my coworkers that wear thick cloth masks, the wear them all day for days. They are always pulling them day and handling the front of the mask.

I keep a little surgical mask in my pocket and if I have a customer that is wearing them I will put it on. It stays in my truck, on my desk or in my pocket for days. I know  I am just endangering my self more to leave it laying around and handling it, but its all about perception

They told me when I gave blood  Thursday they are testing for antibodies, so at least I will know if I have been exposed.  I think having antibodies would be a good thing.

I have 4 managers that sit at an elevated desk in the showroom, shoulder to shoulder all day eating and interacting, with people leaning on the desk and talking and conducting business all day. we are always giving them papers etc that the customers have touched. They are all virus deniers and think it's a scam, and enforce or implement zero safe practices. Karma has a way teaching people hard lessons

I know I get a headache every time I wear a mask, so I do it sparingly when it is required.

Many do, because it causes recirculation of CO2 (increasing CO2 in the bloodstream) and reducing your intake of O2.  For some, it's not a big deal, but if a person is older, out of shape, or exerting themselves in any way, the reduced O2 intake can cause headaches.
