Hello,

My husband Elvin came on the K1 visa in August, we got married and applied for the green card and work permit. He went in for fingerprints in December for the work permit and has since not heard a word. On the "case status" on USCIS website, it just says the fingerprints were taken in December. I tried calling USCIS and I can't figure out how to get a live person. Can anyone shed some light on this? I originally thought that this would take a while longer than normal but it is July and I don't know what step to take next....I wonder how long before the application would even expire?

Hello, what is your field office or service center ? Depending on its processing time, you can submit a case inquiry...

Most people nowadays expedite so unusual to see a normal case.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Oh ok I will take a look at their website and see if he is within the time period. The service office was the Chicago office. Thanks!

All AOS EAD and AP are adjudicated at NBC. The processing time is the same for everyone. It doesn't depend on local field office.

Your EAD is definitely taking longer. And it's probably already out of the processing time, which right now is between 6-8 months. Go the USCIS website and file a out of processing time request.

I’m in the same boat... I came here on a K-1 in July 2019. On the uscis website it says:

“ As of October 31, 2019, fingerprints relating to your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization“

I’m still waiting for EAD

Today I received a response from USCIS.
