Anyone who got their Biometrics or any kind of update from Syracuse,NY /Albany,NY field offices?

Nothing on my end, Im in Long Island and recently spoke to an agent and they cant even say anything at all. theyre just repeating what we already know, the processing times but fail to explain the estimated completion time vs the processing times.

Is this related to virus-related lockdowns/rules in different states? I thought USCIS had funding until the end of the month, so I'm confused why it's been so slow...

Playing the devil's advocate. I wonder if the processing "slowness" is a political maneuver.  They seem to be processing a few of the older applications and more recent ones, net result the average completion time remains reasonable.  Come the staffing cuts if they return to processing  people in order of application the average completion time goes up dramatically, causing a big outcry about the slowness of processing and putting more pressure on the government to provide the requested additional funding.  Who knows what is really happening, but it is an interesting thought.

That's what im saying, I dont get the slowing down part. All offices are open, If the military can take my finger prints and its a federal building, so can USCIS. I dont understand their logic or reasoning.

To be honest, at this point Ill believe that, whichever party is playing this game its wrong. then theres the other side like you mentioned which is the USCIS wanting more funding therefor slowing things drastically. Im just a bit frustrated with this whole situation, is if as the computer systems caught covid 19 too, like explain that to me if anything they should work faster since most of them are working from the comfort of their homes. you depend of people filing applications, people file and they refuse to move accordingly and fairly, then they complaint for lack of funding, they made COVID an excuse to ask for what they want. I bet you after november things will fly.

I think not necessarily after November but once they get the extra money they are asking for (which may be some time after the election).  To me at this time they still have all their staff operating, applications are down and in addition from what I have read Covid caused a further reduction in applications.  So it seems to me they should be able to process March onwards at something like 1 month of applications a week.
