EAD/AP Approved Without Biometrics

This feels like an absolute miracle but my EAD/AP was approved 2 weeks ago without my biometrics appt!! Our lawyer said she has one other case in her office that has experienced the same luck.

The only thing is I received the official approval notice 10 days ago, when I check the status of my EAD it is still saying Approved. It hasn't moved to printing or sending of the card. I'm getting quite nervous as I believe this is an unconventional situation and I'm unsure if USCIS will be following the same case updates as they normally do? Everyone I've spoken to said it's taken 2 weeks from date of approval to receiving the physical card and mine just appears stuck on approved? Has anyone else experienced delays with their EAD? Is there anyone I can call and speak to?

Our senator's office told me I had no hope without the processing centers being open for biometrics so I was quite shocked. I'm so glad this is happening for others too!

I was on an H1-B and am applying for the spousal green card. My husband is a GC holder and we are both Canadian.

If you don't mind me asking, had you had biometrics taken before and how long ago was it? Or only for the H1-B/at a port of entry?

I've only ever had it done at the port of entry for H1-B.

I called USCIS and the agent I spoke to said it was weird they approved it without biometrics in the first place. but according to many people on this forum that is quite common these days with COVID.

That's awesome news!

If you don't mind me asking, when did you do your H1-B visa? I came into the States about 8 years ago on a H1-B and then moved back to Canada.  I was wondering if they still have those prints and can use them for my AoS

No AOS needs background checks and they want fresh prints and yeah USCIS insists on checking for the never changing finger prints based on their 1960 processing manuals.

duh

Confirming this. They won't print the EAD/AP until I do new fingerprints

its not a one solution for all. The trend seems to be  if you are doing Family Based EAD they want you to do Finger Prints before issuing EAD but if you are employment based that they are freely waiving Finger prints. Its really a black hole.. rather than a single process for AOS

duh

How long did this happen after receiving you NOA1?
