Wait for 1 more week. I had mine expedited, did my medicals around 27th of July, had my interview around 14th of August at the US embassy in Nairobi.  Kept sending them emails to remind them and all they said ...wait

Thanks for the quick response. We will start sending them reminder emails regularly

Question for y'all. Our case was DQ in May 2020 but considering the wait time for the whole of 2020, we submitted an Expedited Requested which was approved after a month. The Nairobi embassy sent us an email to go to IOM and get the medicals done. That's about 2 weeks ago from now. Until now, they've no scheduled an interview. We emailed them and they said they will schedule after they get the medicals, that was a week after the medicals were done. Do medicals really take that long? I don't think so. Do expedited requests take long to have interviews scheduled? How much longer are we going to wait before an interview is scheduled? We are starting to wonder if we made a mistake requesting for an expedited interview.

This is unfortunate because all May 2020 DQs have had an interview already, they are interviewing Sep DQs now. You are right, you shouldn't have expedited.

Spoiler

Embassy Nairobi is maximizing our limited resources to accommodate as many Tier One and Two (immediate relative and fiancé(e) cases) as possible.

This is why spousal and fiancee visas are moving forward, while it seems EB1 isn't hearing much.

The Embassy is also scheduling a limited number of Tier Three (family preference cases and visas for certain U.S. government employees abroad) and Tier Four (employment preference and diversity visas) each month. We recognize that visa applicants, particularly those in Tiers Three and Four, will face continued delays.

Spoiler

A 1 year wait is around what most of us waited despite being in the spousal visa category. We waited 1.5 yrs. Stay encouraged, your day will come to pass.

Hello there... Anyone with an idea how long it usually takes the Nairobi embassy to review additional documents that were asked for in the 221g if they also requested to mail the passport with the documents? I understand it might vary depending on the case.

I had the same scenario,  if you mailed the right documents,  wait for one week

Hello so our Priority date was January 23 2020 and we were approved by USCIS on June 23 2020, we were documentary qualified on October 8th 2020. We are CR1/IR1 visa. Can anyone tell me when we should expect to hear back regarding interview at the Kenya embassy? We are curious to understand how much longer it will take because our case on the NVC site shows as "still at NVC".

Couple of questions for anyone that has gone to Kenya for their interview from Uganda.
1. Do you have to get your Medical exam done in Kenya? or can you do it in Uganda?   at IOM facility?

2. Do you also have to leave the passport with Kenya Embassy when you get approved for Visa or since you are travelling into Kenya they would approve your visa and return passport same day?

Thank You!

I've not gone through this but have relatives that have. Medical is done in Kenya at IOM. So you have to travel to Kenya for that.

Passport depends, it they approve you, they might ask you to leave the passport with them and have to pick it up from DHL location you specified with registering to confirm your appointment. But remember you won't be able to travel to Uganda and have to wait for it. If they don't and need additional documents, they will give you your passport with steps about what you need to do. In some cases, you will be asked to send the passport with the additional documents after you get back to Uganda or you will be asked to send additional documents and if all is in order, you will get an email to send your passport. It's highly unlikely you will get the passport the same day because of some administrative tasks that might need to be done. May be the next day or a day after.

You have to travel to complete the medicals and please make sure you have done your medicals before the interview date. My mom travelled and did her medicals and was referred for sputum and told not to attend the interview and went back to Uganda, after a month the embassy called her Friday advising that they had an interview for her Monday, she told them she is in Uganda and they said no worries we will schedule, and they did schedule her Wednesday, we had to rush through the covid testing and flew her again with my young sister, only to be present at the embassy Wednesday and they did not let her do the interview because he medicals are not yet ready. They called her, we knew she had and 8weeks wait, they schedule an appointment and not let her do the interview as if they did not know the results were not ready before they called. So just have the medicals done before the interview, I would recommend.

Wow thats unbelievable. Did she finally get interview and get to US?

So we have our interview on November 17th, and the IOM in Nairobi gave us a date of November 12 for medical. How long does it take for medical to be done?

Another question is that we have missing records for vaccines/can't find them. Would you recommend getting vaccines again or going to IOM and let them sort it out?

Go to IOM without the records it will be OK.

I did my medicals just 2 days before the interview. You'll be fine.

Let IOM handle the vaccines, not yet we are waiting for her sputum results, has to be a full 8 weeks which would be first week of Nov, fingers crossed. Wish you the very best.
