That’s coz  the K1 visas folks filed a class action lawsuit to force the State Department to resume issuance of fiancé(s) visas. Read about the “Milligan vs. Pompey” case. They won, hence all K1 visas have been expedited.

They aren't expedited in the sense of a regular expedite.  Prior to the lawsuit, K1s were not a priority in the same way that IR1/CR1s are a priority (i.e., mission critical).  Now K1s are considered the same as CR1s/IR1s in terms of prioritizing interviews.

Who knows how the NVC is picking cases to send.  As we've all discussed before, they definitely are not going in order of first in/first out.   I kind of wonder if they also look at which country the case is located , etc.    There is certainly some other criteria they are going from beyond the DQ date.

Surprisingly K1Visas have really progressed. People with NOA2 of November 2020 already have their appointments.

I have seen someone with a NOA2 of jan 2021 getting an interview for a K1. It’s so unfair while some of us are almost 2 years or more into this and still waiting 🙄

Is there something IR1/CR1 folks can do? It now feels extremely unfair.

Well my opinion and I emphasize on “my” so that I don’t get called out again lol...is that the K1 visas are backed up by big cooperation in big money-making tv industries such as “90 days fiancé”... 🤷🏾‍♀️

I just got a message from a friend who is on a FB group and someone going for a K1 VISA with an NOA2 of Jan 2021 just got their case transferred to Nairobi.   (Edit:  Didn't see the post above where someone else made the same comment)

Clearly, the State Department is favoring K1s now and leaving us CR1/IR1 people out in the cold.   I'll be in IR1 territory in 1 month.  Been in this process now for nearly 2 years.

This is SO not right!

It's a sick country we live in where the government sandbags our ability to be with our family and then tell us it's normal. Meanwhile illegals can walk across the border all day long. You do the process right and get stuck for years.

Yes it is pretty dang disappointing.  My wife and I are coming on the 2 year mark in June since we started the VISA process.

What's going on with the illegals is totally a political maneuver.  Biden lets in all these poor people from Central American and then later grants them some form of amnesty so they can vote and "Bamb," the Dems have a few million more Dem voters.   Such is not the case with people like us:  Regardless of our political affiliation, most of us doing this legally are unlikely to change/strengthen our previous voting habits because our VISAs get granted.

Yes what a (removed) situation. Now when you say 2 year mark since you "started the VISA process" you mean.. after being DQ, not even the I-130 process?

2 years since I first submitted the I-130.   My DQ is May 5, 2020 so we are about a year from DQ.
