So my case has been updated three days in a role but still shows refused, next week end make it 90 days since it has been on AP, anyone knows if this frequent updates mean anything?

Usually they update it once a week or once every other week.

I’m just really hoping for some positive news soon 🤞

I saw a document on a page with the backlog at NVC

The really doesn't tell us much, especially in relation to Nairobi.

First, what is a typical number of DQ apps to have queued up at NVC?

Second, how many are Nairobi cases?

This order looks mostly related to the DV ruling from last fall.  It looks like a request to verify the previous order was being followed (just my guess).

Thanks.  I had seen this from another person.

I just don't think this really tells us much.  We don't know how many files the NVC would typically have on hand and so we don't know how much bigger the current backlog is than baseline.

What's more important, we don't know how many backed up cases are Nairobi cases.

I just received an email from NVC apologizing that even though the previous email stated that we should be getting an interview date for the expedited request, unfortunately they have decided to put a pause on all interviews due to the embassy’s reduced # of staff. This is in lieu of the lockdown and the country going back to phase 1. They are canceling any scheduled appointments.

It is what it is!

Hello everyone,

So after almost 90 days in AP, I finally got an email from the embassy today saying that I have to do new medicals at IOM but what I don’t get is why they want new medicals and also my on the head of the email it shows my case number Like this NRB2020...... _Ir1(PIVOT)

Does anyone know what PIVOT means?

And does this mean they’ll approve my case after my new medicals?

That is Great news...Congrats! PIVOT stands for Pre Immigrant Visa Overseas Technology. PIVOT is the  information system they use to prepare visas.

As for re-doing the medical, it could be a number of things. A glitch on their side, an expiration, or maybe they just want to confirm some test results.

Thanks for your response, so in your opinion I should get my visa soon?

My passport is still with me and they didn’t ask me for that.

Honestly I don’t know. What I do know however, is that they use the PIVOT system to generate visas. Maybe in your case, getting a visa is dependent on your redoing of medicals? These are just speculations on my part. To be absolute sure, it’s best that you call them and find out.

So it turns out that them asking for a second medicals is a good sign.

Our Senator sent an email to my husband saying the pending issues in my case has been resolved and they want me to submit a new medicals so they my visa can be issued.

My husband and I are crying for joy over this and we’re so happy this is finally over.

You guys are lucky at least you're at the DQ stage. We submitted an IR petition online in Dec 9th 2020 and still waiting. The NOA 1 says it's in Texas Service Center and the case has been under "active review" since 12/9/2020. Don't know when they'll get to us, since it seems like it's so random with some getting approved in 1 month and some of us still waiting 😀

Most of us here have petitioned back in 2019. We are going into our second year just waiting. So I wouldn’t say we are that lucky. Everything has slowed down especially at NVC.
