Embassy is back to normal processing as per Jan 15th. A contact at the embassy indicated that.

This jibes with what @shu josh reported above, so hopefully we'll see some increases in the VISA numbers from Nairobi in Jan.   Keeping my finger crossed!

Use Emirates or Qatar.

I'm not planning any trips to UG in the near future, but was curious what kinds of flights were available between the US and UG right now.  The options available are "god aweful"......  8-9 hour layovers in Doha or similar, 40 hour total time from take-off to landing...   Right now is not a good time to travel over to that part of the world from the US.

Qatar was one of the available options, but they don't have many flights that go into UG.

I thought the embassy received files as they were approved at NVC- whether K1 or CR1/IR1. I was not aware the embassy can choose to prioritize one over the other.

I really do hope that the January stats will reflect that the embassy is now back to normal operations.

They are back in operation. Just don't expect it on their twitter handle.

It's really difficult to know what is going on at the Nairobi Embassy.   I'm in a Facebook group and a person just received a K1 VISA from Nairobi with only a 10-month start to finish timeline.  I'm going on 2 years with no end in sight.   There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to how Nairobi is handing out interviews.

The monthly VISA report came out today and Nairobi doesn't yet appear to be speeding up at all, as some have reported.   I have heard that some had been told that Nairobi really started ramping up in the middle of January. Let's hope this is true and when we get the Feb report, well see a jump.  Right now, things don't look so good.  I made a couple charts showing what's being issued now versus last year.
