It's really interesting because I saw how this phony "conservative" movement played out in Canada, with Maxime Bernier, once a shoe-in to be the next CPC leader, leaving, while seeing prominent "conservatives" utilize leftist identity arguments and validate their moronic outrage driven mob justice.

 

Might be time for "conservatives" to stop being cowards and demand more of their party,  you see how the left are getting results, and while at the same time dictating the public discourse on their own terms, as seen with how conservatives play right into it. 

 

I'd advise not only reading the article but watch the Tucker video. Dude is spot on.

Sens. Ron Johnson (R-WI) and James Lankford (R-OK) backed a proposal on Wednesday to replace Columbus Day with Juneteenth as a federal holiday.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) has sponsored a bipartisan bill that would make Juneteenth, a day that celebrates the end of slavery, a federal holiday. Cornyn’s bill has engendered some backlash from Republicans worried about the cost of adding another federal paid holiday.

To offset the cost of adding Juneteenth as a federal holiday, Johnson proposed eliminating Columbus Day as a national holiday. He contended that few people celebrate Columbus Day, which marks Christopher Columbus’ landing in the Americas in 1492.

“I’m just saying let’s replace it with something,” Johnson said. “I chose Columbus Day just because it’s probably the most lightly celebrated and less disruptive to anybody’s schedule.”

I was actually talking with some coworkers yesterday and they were talking about June should be Black History Month because of Juneteenth instead of February

I'm not a fan of Tucker, and this is an example why:

And the clip on the tweet on that page ends with "The only political movements that endure are the ones that make their voters stronger."

 

I don't think it is the job of the federal government to divide people into classes and give them treats. As a conservative I don't think that should even come up, but of course in a democracy it will eventually as a result of party dynamics. But the way forward should be that good government is going to lift all boats. If some boats are still being held down systemically, even because of injustice that occurred in the past, then that needs to be fixed. Where Republicans are failing is in bringing forward its message in a way that appeals to people because of the type of country that they want this to be.

"Febteenth" doesn't have the same ring to it.

Seriously, it's been stated that denoting February as Black History Month is racist, because February is the shortest month.
