So he sends me a message just as I'm waking up and says that he has some news and to call him on my way to work if I can.

I must admit I was a little excited because the first thing that came to my mind was he got his passport back!

So I call and he seems happy and all.... he says "I got my passport back today!" I said oh yay congrats hun, finally, wonderful, etc.

He said 'but it doesnt have the visa on it....................................

(silence)

I thought he was kidding because he loves to joke around. I said yea right don't say that, he said wallahi, i swear, it's not stamped in there, there is no visa, only my germany visa is on here.

He said he looked on every page, front and back, cover, all over, the visa was not on his passport.

He said the package had the passport, a brown envelope labeled DO NOT OPEN, which is the medical stuff, and also a letter or something but nothing bad, like a general something about coming to america or whatever.

He also said he tried calling the embassy and no answer. I told him to keep trying....

Well he was able to get a hold of someone finally, and the lady said it was a mistake. She made him wait about a minute and a half without saying anything while she looked at the screen I assume, and then said oh, it should have been printed, u sure its not? He said yup, its not on here.

She asked if he could please send it back to them and they'll print and send... blah blah ...

He said, but we have been waiting forever are we going to wait forever again??? She laughed and said no it wont be forever.

She also told him to enclose a note that said what happened, that he received it without the visa and was sending it back.

AT DHL:

He went an hour later to send it back, at it turns out the guy that worked at DHL said he has seen that before! Believe it? He said its happen a few times before and they are usually pretty quick in these cases, a week or so.

The guy ALSO said he used to work in the embassy, a few years ago, and he said that everything inside happens very slowly. (yea no joke there!)

But they exchanged cell numbers, and the guy told him as soon as he gets it or hears anything he would call ahmed.

So... inside of a sweet post titled VISA IN HAND, I sadly have to wait (usual) and post this instead. But just to think that today SHOULD have been the day that we are done... nope, a little longer... oh well it's ok....

P.S He also made a friend the day of his interview, i think a k-3, and they have been keeping in touch, the friend called him on monday and said they sent his passport out and he would have it the next day, so I'm thinking that the people in early february are getting their visas in these upcoming days, Becky&Sam! hopefully u are next!

Congrats and Happy Reunion!!! :dance: OOPs didn't read all the way....I'm sure its just a mix up and they will put it in the passport fast.

Wow what a major cluster ##$% that place is!!! :angry:

Well at least now you know it's gonna be days not months!! Have you spoken now about when he'll come here? Now the fun begins...checking airfare, planning on what to do that first week together...you must be soooo excited even though it's not exactly happening the way it's supposed to happen!!!

Thanks everyone but I cant help but feel really annoyed at the embassy.... and a little sad :(

What if it takes another month and a half and forever like it's been... You never really know with cairo.

This just proves how incompetent they are, I mean come on, how hard is it to make sure that before its sent there is a VISA in it!

I'll try to think it was just a mistake and will be over soon :)

I know what you mean. They sent my husband the packet that should have contained the pkt3 documents but instead it only had the cover letter and no documents in it. Whoever sends the mail out needs to be b!tch slapped!!! :wacko::wacko: (sorry for the language but i'm in a p!ssy mood tonight :angry: )

We were planning on him coming July 11th... I hope that is still possible.... If the passport had arrived with a VISA on it TODAY then he could have bought his ticket, he has it reserved at a travel agent there.

Inshallah soon, everything happens for a reason, although im clueless now what this reason is ;)

I am sure its frustrating but don't worry Nora i don't think it will take that long really! He will get it soon!! Don't worry! At least you know that other than the visa getting stamped in his passport the worst if over! Keep your chin up girl! he will have it soon you'll see! :thumbs:

Well that is good news with some bad news which seems to be the case with Cairo these days!!! So happy for you both that you are almost there and hope they get that visa in there and back ASAP!!!!!
