Case Complete to Interview August 2020

Waiting for 3 weeks now for my interview letter, but nothing yet. Right after getting DQ( July 8th)  I emailed the embassy to ask about the interview and the response was that they expect NVC to schedule me in August. My embassy is not doing routine visas, but does all mission critical visas like the CR-1/IR-1 even if they are not expedited.

I will try calling them tommorow and ask if August interviews have already been scheduled or not. Anything else I should try? NVC gave me a very generic response that my case is in line for an interview. I had high hopes that my husband and I can spend our anniversary together, but everyday that seems less likely.

Latin American applicants out there... any news from the US Consulate in your country?

thank you! Gracias!

Expedited case for Guatemala and still nothing. All it says on CEAC for my wife is "ready" , but that alone is a relief. Rather have it as ready than stuck at nvc.

Hmm, I don't see anything on your Embassy's page indicating that they are officially reopen for interviews. All embassies were technically doing mission critical visas even if not expedited, but whether they are actively interviewing has depended on whether they are open. It's possible though that the fact they told you they expected interviews in August means that they will soon resume interviews, if they haven't already. However, unless you know for sure that they've been conducing interviews already, they will probably have at least a bit of a backlog to get through before getting to cases DQd in July.

I emailed the embassy  inquiring about what interviews they are conducting because they do not update their page and they confirmed they resumed interviews for all regular spousal visas back in june. People got interviews for July without expediting and I found even more on facebook groups.  I know from talking to 4 people that got DQ in june that they had interviews scheduled for july and almost all of them already have their visas in hand, so the embassy has little to no backlog. They are definetly doing the interviews, approving and printing visas currently.

Oh, that's great that they are actually moving on cases. Yea, in that case I would check and see where they are at in the queue -- if they are currently scheduling July cases. It definitely seems frustrating to have to deal with both the Embassies and NVC because it seems like neither really knows the whole story of what's going on.

I hope you're able to get some good news and your interview scheduled very soon!

I called and they said IR-1 have already been scheduled for August, but no word on the CR-1. She also said they are unable to schedule an interview while the case still shows “AT NVC” and they told me to contact NVC and tell them to send the case to the embassy. I send NVC an inquiry, I am confused on what is happening right now, my case seems to be in limbo.

I just checked on CEAC visa status check. Today it's changed from "Rejected" to "Administrative Processing". Do I need to worry? I asked to use another passport for the visa and all documents were received by US Consulate.
