Hey everyone, so I'm planning to go to US in October, but I'm wondering does this backlog affect CR1 holder to receive a Green Card and how does the process of obtaining a Green Card looks like? I've paid an immigration fee but that still is confusing what's next and how long it takes.

If you already paid the processing fee after your interview (they should have given you instructions), then all you need to do is wait after Point of Entry. Make sure that they have your correct address where to mail the card, or update the address with the officer at point of entry.

It's true that there have been delays receiving the physical cards during covid, but the officer will stamp your visa and endorse it to serve as greencard for one year, so you don't need to worry.

Thank you so much for the response, I did pay the fee so now it's clear. I'm wondering beacuse I was planning to look for a job before I'm gonna enter USA and have things set prior to entry, so I'm wondering how soon after entry I'll be able to work :)

You are allowed to work and travel from the day you enter the US. At point of entry, the officer will stamp your visa which endorses it to serve as greencard for 1 year. The physical greencard will take some time to arrive (delays have been reported during covid), but the plastic card is only PROOF of status, and not the actual status. You are a legal permanent resident as soon as you enter the US :)

You guys, I am SOOO excited! ☺️😊

My original interview date that I selected was August 17th because it was the earliest one available.

I checked the booking site to see if there were any new dates and they now have August 6th

The relevance of that date is it's going to be our second wedding anniversary!!

I immediately rescheduled to the 6th. I'm going to let my husband think it's still booked for the 17th, and I plan to surprise my him on the day

Hopefully it will be positive and something along the lines of "Surprise, I had my interview today and got approved, happy anniversary!!"

If that's the case, it'll be the best anniversary gift in the world 💙

This is incredibly sweet. Good luck!!! Also im confused why you were able to choose the date instead of it being assigned? Is that how its been working in your embassy??

Service Center: Texas Service Center SRC

Consulate: Juarez, Mexico

I-130 NOA1: 2019/03/21

I-130 NOA2: 2019/09/17

NVC DQ: 2020/01/21

Visa Approved: 2021/07/01

Hello everyone

I struggle with the structure of this forum and VJ in general so i'm probably not getting the best out of it.  But want to join in!!

Just wanted to say I was DQ'd at NVC on April 10th so I think that's pretty early compared to some of the others on this thread. And i'm still waiting for my interview at London. Regular, not expediate. So will be really interesting to see what happens next week!

Has anyone received an appointment at London who was DQ'd around the same time - regular, not expedited?

Thank you! Exciting!

I’m the only one is going for a visa. My wife children never been to Jamaica before they born and live in USA

Then they don't have to appear if they aren't part of the Visa process. If only for you then only you are to be there.

Well I would say you must have listed them incorrectly on your DS-260 and they think you are applying for visa for them. Easy to correct at the interview,. Nothing to worry about.

Not yet 🥺 my DQ date is 29th april but we have a conditional expedite. Once the Embassy is open again they will expedite. So hoping it’s moved in the next couple of weeks
