Congrats! My husband is insisting upon waiting for the embassy to contact him by email before he schedules, he’s so worried about doing anything if it’s not in writing. I’m hoping we hear from the embassy early next week so we can get the ball rolling. Was that the nearest appointment available or was it just the date most convenient for you?

I’ve not heard of the embassy reaching out to expedited people to book an interview. If your husband wants something in writing I’d recommend you use their contact form, that way they have to email back. I’ve even booked my interview today without contacting them, but may get in touch to confirm I’m good to go once it hits London

It was most convenient because I needed to give plenty of notice for the day off work. But there were so many dates that she told me “tell us what day you want because we have lots” and I had a ton of times to pick from as well.

  • Feb 5 2020: Approved I-130 Sent to NVC (12 days after I-824 NOA2)

I know that we are supposed to schedule our own interview but I was under the impression that we would receive an email with instructions for how to schedule our interview and medical. Our case is officially marked as “ready” and he emailed them on Friday so hopefully we get a response soon. I understand him being cautious but I’m just ready to have it on the calendar 😂 That’s so exciting that you were able to book your interview as well! What date did you select?

I hope you hear back from them soon! Ours is still in transit but should get there way ahead of my interview 🙈 I was going to wait but I heard there were only four August dates left so I decided to just book it. I chose August 17th, the earliest date available after my medical.

If you do fancy looking at dates while you wait you can sign up to the website and take a look. All the info is in this really helpful post:

This came in as a mail, the Nigerian Embassy is not ready to open, this is really sad

This is sad news. It seems to me like I. S. Consulates in Africa are waiting for Covid-19 cases to spike. Most countries in the continent have very low numbers so far but none of the consulates are not willing to provide service. 😢

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you can't figure out whether you'll get an interview soon or not from that previous post as they're at a different embassy to you. Each embassy is reopening at it's own pace. It might be that you will get an interview soon, but I'd recommend looking at the timelines of others who are also interviewing at Manila embassy. Also bear in mind when looking that some may be expedited cases and are an exception.

I have my fingers crossed for you though and hope you hear something very soon 💙

Hello everyone,

Just a quick update to let you know that I had my interview this morning at the Paris embassy and I got approved :) !

Do not hesitate if you have any questions about the interview process ;) .

Have a good day !

Laurent

Congratulations!!!

How are they handling the visa issuance in Paris? It seems that some embassies moved to same day issuance and the applicant walks out with their passport and visa in hand.

Thank you !

No they send passports on Thursdays via UPS, so I might be able to receive it on Friday or Saturday (I live close to the embassy).

CONGRATULATIONS!! Friday or Saturday isn't too much longer to wait to be completely done with the process! That is such great news!
