Here's a question for "After visa interview" - Has anyone heard about paying the USCIS immigration fee only AFTER your entry to US?

Our lawyer recommends NOT to pay it before entering US. If you pay it before, it usually takes longer to get the green card mailed to you because the border forgets or messes up the info about your entry. If you pay after you're in US, the order of your green card will be submitted at the moment you pay the fee online.

Is there any thread about this in this forum?

There's no truth to to that. It's your choice when to pay. It's always been a 30 t 60 days but many waiting over the 120 days regardless when they paid.

Doesn't really matter you get temp green card on arrival good enough to do all the things you need to do.

Question:  We got our interview appointment (Aug 25, Amsterdam), but when we try to register the appointment (as instructed by our lawyer ) at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-nl/iv ,  using our case #, it says "not ready to schedule".  Is this a matter of being "in transit", or is there something we are missing?

Thanks

Yes it's a timing issue. Probably have to wait for it to read READY that means Embassy has it logged in now.

Hello all.

We just received our interview date.  Kyiv, Aug 28.   They must have read my mind - I was going to inquire next week about our case.

Wish everyone here the same luck we had with the relatively quick processing and the opening of your respective embassies.

Fingers crossed that the interview doesn't get cancelled or postponed.

Congratulations. I have added you to the spreadsheet.

Did you already have an interview scheduled already before the closures and how did you get that email from the embassy, did they have your email address or was it a reply to an email from you?

Hey I wanted to ask when did you receive this message? I was looking at the date of this message on the US embassy page for Guatemala and it's a message from March 16th originally.

I received a general email from the embassy in Guatemala today indicating that non-immigrant visa are not being processed, but immigrant visa are now being processed specially  CR1/IR1. Hopefully we can get on the list for our CR1 visa. So we can add Guatemala to the sites that have started processing spousal visas.
