Hello! My husband's interview was scheduled last week at the Buenos Aires embassy for July 30th. I haven't been able to find much info on how to organize the paperwork. Like obviously, I know what to include and in what order, but should I put it in a binder? Expanding folder?  Or label things with tabs? Does anyone have any suggestions or can link to me another forum that talks about this? Thanks for any help!

I think you will find the info youre asking for in the first post of this thread

In Central America the rules are so strict. I called their Embassy in DC and they told me that I am not allowed to the country even as a spouse. I am sure some marriages in current situation can be ruined. Video calls are not helping when no physical contact in months.

South Africa is the same. Banned Americans from visa-free entry. No consulates are issuing visas at all. This sucks so bad, I just want to get him out of there!

Hi, may I ask if you expedited your case or NVC just sent you the interview letter?

How to organize the paperwork really depends on the applicant, You can use a folder and put the labels that your husband consider would  help him to find any document that the consular officer may ask..

for example.. I have a folder like "acordeón" type. And the labels that I used are.. birth certificate, police clearance certificate, marriage certificate, financial documents, tax transcript,  pictures... it is a guide for helping me to find any documents in there... but to be honest I’ve been fooling around with that folder so many times that I already know by memory in what order is everything 😝

Here you will find what you need to do before your interview appointment at U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in Buenos Aires.

Congratulations that's wonderful news :)  Can I ask if you expedited it or just normal waiting for them to schedule you a interview? Was just curious. Thanks so much.

I found this petition on Facebook for the Embassies to open for visa services. I don't know if its irreverent now that they State Department said they would advise Embassies to begin Phased Openings on July 15th but thought maybe it would be a good idea never the less just in case it might be a good idea in case they make us wait months and months more.

Our lawyer said I need to bring the medical exam results to the interview so I should reschedule the interview.

My medical exam is today (Thurs) and my interview is next Wednesday. I'm a bit reluctant to reschedule the interview.

On the other hand, my lawyer said I need to bring the I864 original to the interview, and ask my husband to pick up the original (signed by the lawyer as well) and FedEx to me.

I'm quite frustrated now. I was DQ in March but the lawyer didn't give any further info in the last few months on how to prepare until now.

I feel you on this one... ours never prepares us for the next step, just waits until it is upon us. It's maddening honestly.

I explained that the medical exam results will be sent to Consulate electronically. Then the lawyer said it's ok (in some US Embassies, they might not let the interviewee get in without the sealed medical report).

They never prepare me for interview questions, but they helped to put together the DS-5540 form.

I would read embassy instructions what can be brought into the embassy (some only allow transparent folders/binders), and from there it all depends what works best for your hubby. The CO won’t go through the folder, your hubby will (and hand the different papers) so I’d probably let him organize it so he knows where to find everything. Good luck!

I asked our medical clinic. They said it is not an issue if the results aren't in before the interview takes place. It will take longer for them to process the visa after the interview, because they wait until the results come in. They even said that sometimes it is not possible to have a medical exam planned before the interview and it has to take place after, also that is not a problem.
