Hello everyone,

I am service member and I filed a petition for my wife back in Dec 2018 when I was station in overseas. I move back to states last year November. She got DQ’ed on April and her case still at the NVC. I was wondering if anyone in here submitted an expedite request during this time. I just wanna know if I can submit an expedite request so she can get an interview. Thanks.

You can request an expedite, for sure. Whether she gets one is another issue. She must have valid reasoning for the expedite and show proof of the reason.

USCIS may consider an expedite request if it meets one or more of the following criteria:

  • Severe financial loss to a company or person, provided that the need for urgent action is not the result of the petitioner’s or applicant’s failure to:
    1. File the benefit request or the expedite request in a reasonable time frame, or
    2. Respond to any requests for additional evidence in a reasonably timely manner;
  • Urgent humanitarian reasons;
  • Compelling U.S. government interests (such as urgent cases for the Department of Defense or DHS, or other public safety or national security interests); or
  • Clear USCIS error.

Does anyone know if it's possible to expedite my fiancee's visa in embassy? I understand all of the routine visa services are suspended. I wish I knew to put her name to my order before returning from overseas. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if you could expedite a K1 visa interview during this time. I know K1 is included on Visa ban.

That’s incorrect. K-1 visas are not included in the ban but they’re also not considered mission critical. They need to wait for resumption of routine visa services before their cases will get interview/visa.

Just now read this post.  I'm in the Navy and I have an expedite letter template Ibuses to help expedite AOS for my wife.  If you'd like I can email you the template if you still haven't asked for expedite.  Just PM me your email.
