I have read that some people have gotten their Employment Authorization at the point of entry into the USA (New York) Did I read this right? Is it only New York? How does this work? My husband is comming in on a K3

Wendy

It only works at JFK airport in New York City but it also only works for K1 visa holders. You're out of luck on this one.

you know it is funny, you have to wonder what the forethought was with that gem! K3 means you are married and might have a family you would like to help support.

Yep it will take 60+ days to get EAD.... I agree it is ####### that K1 can get temp EAD on entry but it is only valid for 90 days and then they have to wait until they apply for AOS to file for a 1 year EAD.... as a K3 holder your EAD will be vakid for 2 Years or the date your K3 expires.......

Your other option if you needed to work as soon as your arrived inthe US was to go the CR1 route and you would have been able to work from the day you entered....
