This Saturday I will be taking part in The San Antonio Susan Komen Walk For The Cure.

As some of you may know I am a Breast Cancer survivor, this will be my 4th year in remission.

The Race for the Cure®

One in seven women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime. The Komen San Antonio Race for the Cure® raises money to fund education, screening and treatment programs for these women and thousands of others in our own community and supports the national search for a cure.

The Komen Race for the Cure® Series is the largest series of 5K run/ walks in the world. Since its origination in Dallas in 1983, the Komen Race for the Cure® Series has grown from one local race with 800 participants to an international series of 115 races with more than 1.3 million participants.

December 29th ~ received reciept for AOS application and notice for fingerprints.

January 8th, 2005 ~ Fingerprints Done.

Oct 6th - Contacted Constituent Liaison.

Made Infopass appt. for 1st Dec. and later that day received a call from San Antonio office and during that phonecall they decided to interview us on 1st Dec. - wow

Dec 1st - AOS Interview! - Succeful interview, but one of my Sons still has to wait for FBI clearance as he turned 14 during AOS application processing.

April 27th, 2006 green cards received!!

September 6th, 2007 Sent I-751 to TSC

10 year green card received May 18th, 2009 (we finally got there!) finally dealt with by our local office.

Just wanted to wish you well on the walk! Hubby and I are on a team for the cancer society's Relay for Life in late April, so we know how important these events are for raising awareness and funds. :yes:

Thanks everyone for your best wishes..and a big thank you to you Margy for your donation (F) - good to see some of the people who were around when I was, still here! - hope life's going good for you all :)

We have another appt with immigration on Thursday, my Sons FBI checks are now complete and the lady forgot to take our one fingerprint for the green cards - so called me up to ask us to return so she can send our card applications in...

I think I can see a light at the end of this tunnel finally ;)

I have a friend at work who just got diagnosed with breast cancer a week ago. She is in early 30's - enjoying her dual role as new mother of 1 y.o. boy and career woman. It is just heart breaking to hear about the diagnose

It sure is scary to be diagnosed with Breast Cancer! - it seems to be getting more and more common too.

There are many good drugs out there, some not pleasant but they can be life saving! - my thoughts and prayers are with your friend, tell her to keep a fighting spirit and no matter what keep smiling and always be positive.

All the very best to you!!!

We are doing a Relay For Life in mid June here as well..I've done it the past few years in our tiny town here, but they're not doing it here any longer, so Phi Theta Kappa at college has a team and I'll be walking on that one..it's a great cause. My Mom had breast cancer as well and is free of it for 25+ years and several other family members have had cancer.

Terrific that you're in remission on year 4 now :) :) :) and good on YOU for doing this! :) Michelle
