Minneapolis city council members spend $63,000 of taxpayer money on private security details after receiving death threats from 'white nationalists' for voting to abolish the police department

  • A city spokesperson said the private security details were ordered for council members Andrea Jenkins, Phillipe Cunningham and Alondra Cano
  • The security has come at the taxpayer's expense, costing $63,000 over the last three weeks - or $4,300 per day
  • News of the arrangement surfaced Friday, the same day the council voted 12-0 to abolish the Minneapolis Police Department
  • The new proposal would eliminate the existing police department and instead create a ‘department of community safety and violence prevention’
  • While welcomed by those calling for the department to be ‘defunded’, the councilmembers say they've received death threats from 'white nationalists'
  • The security detail is temporarily being provided by two firms, Aegis and BelCom as an interim fix until other security solutions can be established
  • The security expense does not need to be approved by the city council unless it surpasses $175,000 and a spokesperson said that sum likely won't be reached

You. I and anyone without a mental disorder knows they are lying. What a perfect,  quick look over there black people, Racists!

Lets defund the police and at the same time hire our own private security at your expense.  Its all good though. Because racism.

Idiocracy. I am thinking we have become stupid. I pray there is a silent majority that has been white guilted into being silent.

Yes, they're lying, but the most frustrating thing here is people thinking its stupidity. These people are not stupid. That's precisely why they're protecting themselves, if they were stupid they'd pretend Antifa would. The council people in question are simply relativistic bootlickers, trying to maintain their positions while acquiescing to those who they feel has the actual power.. as in, Antifa, BLM, the deranged left. The latter aren't stupid either, they are simply malicious.

The "silent" majority (it isn't an actual "majority" who are silent, rather, a decently sized minority that can be highly influenced and herded around by either side) unfortunately are the ones most prone to stupidity because of their silence and inclination to fall for tactics by the most maliciously galvanized of either side. It tells me they are scared people, and people like this are most prone to allowing this sort of thing to perpetuate and worsen. In psychological experiments done throughout early last century, in the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, most people didn't agree with the vicious leaders, of the experiments, of USSR/Germany, they were just scared of what would happen if they opposed, followed by lying to themselves to lower the cognitive dissonance felt by what they knew was wrong. It doesn't at all take away from those who were the worst, but those people don't get to where they are without these "dominoes" that need to fall, it's a process that starts with the sort of authoritarianism we see, the stuff the left tried to gaslight about Trump being, that they are being themselves, right to people's faces, yet they do nothing.

Pray all you like, the silent majority will eventually help the left if things continue as they are (and you can see how fast things can change), the more productive thing to do is to encourage them to be resilient, and be extremely aggressive to ensure common sense prevails. Our sense of cognitive equilibrium and proneness to social pressures can be a strength but times like this you see where its a weakness. People flock to what is perceived as stronger, regardless of what they say. Right now the left doesn't have that power, but they're starting to get it (physically) by psychologically disarming people, coercing all the right people.. leaders. That's why I've been going after moderates and independents, who like to be perceived as fair and that both sides need to be weighed, but eventually need to have a spine and draw a line in the sand, where this deliberative weakness becomes burdensome for critical decision making. I've known where that line is long ago.

Likely moderates, and likely the type of cowards I've talked about, who get more pressure from their leftist buddies and they acquiesce. That's how humans are hardwired, as illogical as it seems.

What they need is encouragement and pressure to do the right thing. They need to see more people galvanized for the right cause. What I've seen in so many midwest states are people being quietly polite, respectful, and so laying off. This winds up working against them.
