Question on Approval Estimate on VJ

Hi all, 

 

I am curious about how the approval estimate works here on VJ. I put in my timeline for my pending I-751 case, and now I get an email for approval estimate every Sunday. Last week I got Jan 2021, and this week I got July 2021 (We filed in Feb 2020). What are your thoughts on approval estimate tool? Do you guys know based on what the estimate approval date changes?

It's based on people like you who fill out their timelines and keep them up to date.

It's just a small sampling of all the people going through the process, and every case is unique so some can take longer than others.

Yes ^ exactly. I continue to get a range of updates myself and I take it with a grain of salt now. Because every situation is unique, many going through the immigration process may not even post their timelines on this site/so it's only a small data sampling of the visa process, some get RFEs, some do not, etc. I've gathered it's best to not rely on those updates as to what will actually happen and just stay up to date on government websites, timelines and in check with your lawyer if you have one.  Good luck! We are all hoping we get good news soon.
