My case is showing as transferred to local office today. Anybody knows what is the difference between being processed at the local office vs the service center? I am filing at SRC

Sounds like interview time

Hello guys. I have a few questions that need assitance with.

On the form, Part 5 - information about your children. Is this asking about the children specifically of the petitioner, or children that could be from the spouse from a previous marriage as well? Its a little confusing as it doesnt describe whether they want info on all children or just petitioners. The instruction pdf doesnt explain this either. I dont have common children with my husband yet, but he has one from a previous marriage.

Also, do we need to provide 2 photos like in previous forms? Again, it doesnt eplain whether the photos are needed or not. Only states if you reside outside of States for military or government purposes then you need 2 photos.

Thank you for all your help.

Photos are not needed. Except for the ones you'll be submitting as proof of your bonafide relationship with your spouse who is the US Citizen.

On the I-751, you are "Petitioner". The part where info about the children are being asked, it's about the Petitioner's children. So if you came here to the US with a dependent child/children, you'd have to put their info on the form.

Hi Marta,

Hope you are doing well. Yes we have almost the same timeline. Glad the cases are moving and I think we just need to be patient.

Has anyone else had their petition transferred for processing?

I submitted to the TX center in July. All received, fingerprints applied, then nothing until today --

"On October 21, 2020, we transferred your Form I751, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE, Receipt Number SRCXXXXXXX, to another office for processing and sent you a transfer notice. The notice explains why we transferred your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice."

I know, I know - the letter will explain why this has happened. But I wondered if anyone had insight in the meantime as to what this might mean so I don't spend the next couple of weeks anxiously waiting. TIA!

Hey There, I am an april filer on October/ 01 I got the same email and updated status of the transfer to a different office,  then followed with the letter in the mail, mine was transferred to NBC, and the reason is " as part of standard processing"  not sure what it means still ! possibly to conduct an interview or maybe not!

I noticed that some folks that reside in Georgia and their cases were getting processed in Texas service centre are being transferred to the local office or to NBC

Hi, thanks for sharing your experience! I received the letter this week and mine has also been transferred to NBC for the same reason. Hoping it will make things move faster, but who knows!

For those who are curious about their cases transferred from Texas Service Center to another office, this is a standard workload transfer and can be found on the USCIS website. I filed in July and the letter I received says my case is transferred to NBC.

Transfers in 2020

We transferred some of the following cases from the Texas Service Center (TSC) to the National Benefits Center (NBC😞

  • Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence
