my husband signed as my preparer, he is not attorney, and my application got through.

I am sure it was out of ordinary but they let it go through....  your husband shouldn't be the preparer.   Preparer is someone in official capacity.

Our packet (joint) was delivered to TX by UPS on 7/28 (required a signature and the proof of delivery says 'SIG ON FILE' - left on Mail Room) and they have not cashed/deposited the check. Still no text/email notification either. Is it normal that it's taking this long before they open the packet? I'm getting a little worried now. Also, we're available to apply on 7/25.

You're still fine, I think you will get an update very soon.

Our packet delivered July 17th based on tracking information, but we received a text on July 24th, and my credit card was charged the same day. And I got the NOA1 just this week.

A biometrics waiver? That would be great! I'm a little behind on the posts in this thread - are people being notified of this waiver by mail, and how soon is this happening? Thank you!

I got an online update this week that the biometrics have been waived. USCIS received my application July 17.

A biometrics waiver?

In that case they send a "Biometric Reuse" notice by mail: "U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has received your form and is currently processing your application, petition, or request. This notice informs you that USCIS is able to reuse your previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics. USCIS will run the same security checks and use your biometric data as in the past, however, it is not necessary for you to appear at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for a biometrics appointment."

On August 6, 2020, we updated your name for your Form I-751

Quick question, since it mentions name change, are you filing under a different name (for example your married name) than your previous applications with USCIS -K1/AOS?

the I 751 instruction said whoever other than the petitioner prepared the form must sign Part 10. My husband is not the petitioner. I am only the petitioner. I just followed what they instructed. My husband is not an attorney so I must not include G-28 form with the I 751 form.

the I- 751 instruction said ANYONE other than the petitioner prepared the form must sign Part 10. My husband is not the petitioner. I am only the petitioner for this petition. I just followed what they instructed. My husband is not an attorney so I checked the box: "I am not an attorney...." in the Preparer's Statement section. And I must not include G-28 form with the I -751 form. If the preparer is an attorney then I would check the box: "I am an attorney...." in the  Preparer's Statement section and I must include G-28 form with the I -751 form. Check Part 10 on the I -751 form and the I- 751 instruction again and you will see.

We sent our ROC package from Tucson to Phoenix on July 15th.  On July 31st we received the NOA1 18 month extension letter from USCIS.   Guess its now time for the long wait ahead.

what is good in my opinion this time is that; if you receive an 18 months extension then you know  how long you are going to wait even if waiting can be painful. compare that to the pain of the initial K1 process. My card expire December 19th and I am thinking about filing either on September 19  or the following week. Now, September 19 being a Saturday, that is even better because they will receive it the following Monday the 21st.

Do I make any sense?  I feel like once a person start thinking about this process, it is easy to go out of your trees.

Do aim send it earlier, that way if anything does delay, you still won't cross the date the fees are going to change.

Yup, Thanks. Just checked my bank transactions again today and saw the USCIS cash checked in pending transactions. Hoping to get the letter for extension soon.
