Hello All,

My I751 application packet was delivered at Phoenix, Arizona through USPS on  7/27/2020. I haven't heard anything yet- no NOA- check not cashed yet too. My 3 month period starts on July 24th and I sent it on that day. Anyone here sent it through USPS around the same time? Did you get any response back?

Thank you.

You will be fine. Wait for few more days. Mine took 14 days to get text and check cashed.

Hi guys. My application was received on July 22nd and got my case number (check was cashed and got text message) on July 31st. Today, Informed delivery is telling me I will be getting my NOA but earlier this morning I got the following case update. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Application Type: I751, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE

Your Case Status: Initial Review

On August 6, 2020, we updated your name for your Form I751, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE, Receipt Number YSC**********. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators. If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition

Is this a standard RFE or something else? Don't recall ever seeing USCIS mention "background checks" unless this is standard procedure I wasn't aware of.

Our packet (joint) was delivered to TX by UPS on 7/28 (required a signature and the proof of delivery says 'SIG ON FILE' - left on Mail Room) and they have not cashed/deposited the check. Still no text/email notification either. Is it normal that it's taking this long before they open the packet? I'm getting a little worried now. Also, we're available to apply on 7/25.

You should be fine. Wait for few more days. It might takes up to 14 days to get text/ check cashed.

Thanks!! Have you ever encountered "Name Was Updated" during the application process? Do you know the meaning of it? I didn't submit a request to change my name

Not sure why the "thanks" as I didn't provide any information there, I'm asking a question for anyone else who may know about RFE.

I have no idea what it means.

No this is not RFE. This is the next (2nd) step after the application being "received" and "accepted (filed correctly). This is where they use the biometric data to do the initial review, criminal and FBI background checks etc. the usual stuff. If after this, they need more info, then in the 3rd step, RFE comes up.

If I had to guess, I'd say @Milo1234's timeline is ahead of most others and that they're already in the next step: post-acceptance, so work has been started on their case. If anyone has more information about this, please correct me!

You may refer to this (this is for N-400 but the steps are same for almost all immigrant applications):

ROC:

07/24/2020:     Packet sent.

03/25/2021:     ROC Approved

03/29/2021:     Green Card Received

N-400:

07/17/2021:     Online Submission. NOA and Bio Reused 07/17.
10/20/2021:     Interview Scheduled for 12/03

01/12/2022:     Oath Ceremony

One of the usual question is coming back again. Anyone here filing wit a child under 14 or 10? do you have to file a separate I751  for for the child or it is just included in yours. in my situation there was no delay we got our previous green card together we moved together throughout the whole process.

We sent our ROC package from Tucson to Phoenix on July 15th.  On July 31st we received the NOA1 18 month extension letter from USCIS.   Guess its now time for the long wait ahead.
