Countries without flight ban

If anyone could help, I'm desperate to get to the US as we all are, I'm sure. My k1 visa expired in May, but hoping with the help of the embassy here in Amsterdam I'll be able to redo the medical, pay the filing fee again and be reissued. At least that's the possibility I've been told. 

My question is whether I'd be able to fly from Amsterdam to let's say turkey for eg, or any other country that's not on the banned list, stay for 14 days and then enter the USA.? Has anyone done this, or thought of doing this? 

I'm getting desperate, my fiances sister has terminal cancer, would really like to be there to support him and his family.

Is the embassy open? No point looking at flight routes until you know whether they will re-issue your visa as you currently have no valid visa. Flight routes and open borders can change at any moment. A country (such as Serbia, which is currently “open”) could close at any moment. Or it could close the borders during your 14-day quarantine period. What’s open and possible now, might not be by the time you can get a decision on your visa. You may have to re-do the medical also.

Yeah, I certainly hear what you're saying, that's a huge worry, locking down a country again. And yes, would definitely need to redo the medical. Thanks anyway
