I-130 asking for mother’s passport info...she doesn’t have yet

my MIL didn’t even have a birth certificate like at all before. She just got hers recently in summer from PSA and we have a photo of it but not an actual copy. 

Wife will need a pdf or jpg of it to upload if you’re filing online or print if you’re mailing in. MIL should have original available at interview time. 
 

make sure to watch the size on the pdf or jpg. I think the upload limit for s 2MB per document.

Do you know if the NSO birth certificate is good enough or do I need a new one from the PSA ? 
 

we are planning to order copies from PSA eventually for filing with the Philippine embassy but they charge a bit and we need the money we have for filing.

You can never have too many Birth Certificates.

 

You realise you are entering a very expensive commitment, having just money for filing is a small down payment.

NSO got rejected for us.

Very aware but one thing being expensive doesn’t mean spending where it is not needed suddenly makes sense

 

a few have noted NSO is no longer accepted so will go with PSA and order a handful.
