Did anybody enter the USA in the last 2 months with a K1 visa?

Hi,

I hope everyone is doing well in thhese difficult times. I would appreciate any input you might have regarding our situation. Let me explain:

I received the K1 visa in the beginning of March, 2020, in Romania (not part of the Schengen zone). I am understanding, from some of your posts, that K1 visas are not restricted by Trump’s proclamation dated April 22nd, 2020.

I would like to go to United States as soon as possible and I am thinking that a Turkish Airline flight trough Istanbul (in July) would be the best option, possible the only option. I am not sure if I would be allowed to enter the United States once I get to Los Angeles (if they let me get on the plane in Romania and/or Turkey). Does anybody have any information that might help?

Did anybody enter the USA in the last 2 months with a K1 visa?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thank You

Ligia

I believe several people have reported entering successfully with a K-1 in the Covid-19 forum https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/173-coronavirus-covid-19/

Mostly this was earlier (as K-1s are not being issued by most embassies/consulates now), and most now are after spending some time in an intermediate non-banned country, but if you have a valid visa and have not been in a banned country (including changing planes at the airport) you should be able to enter the US.

Last weekend, my fiancee, traveled from Minsk, Belarus to Istanbul, Turkey, from Istanbul to Doha, Qatar on Qatar Airlines, and from Doha to Dallas on Qatar Airlines, arriving on 21 June.  She passed through customs easily and without issue on her K-1 visa.  We chose Qatar as they have not been cancelling any flights from Doha to America, and because she would not have to transit any Schengen or banned countries.

That is a valid option. Also available is an Air Serbia flight from Belgrade to US. Some Romanian visitors are taking that path:

Is anyone with a valid visitors visa allowed in the USA or just husband and wives of citizens or residents? Thanks

@ann2519, I see from your posting history that you have a B-2. Thus, you can travel to US POE. Remember not to transit through Brazil, Schengen Area, UK, Ireland, Iran, or China.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi everyone,

I appreciate all Who replied to my post. Your messages helped me a lot and I thank you!

I left Romania on July 6th heading towards Belgrade. From there I flew straight to New York With Air Serbia and from there to LA.
Everything went smooth! They only asked me, in NY, if I was in the Schengen area in the last 14 days.

There were also people that got in with J1 visas, DV visas and B1/2 visas Without any problems.

Now I am happy next to my fiancé. I wish all of you the best.

Thank you much, everyone!

P.S.

protests started in Serbia a couple of days ago. I am not sure how and if they change anything.
