This is archived but here’s the full list. https://www.uscis.gov/archive/blog/2013/10/applying-for-citizenship-what-to-know It includes tax returns, and I was asked for mine; I understand most people aren’t. I personally would much rather bring extra stuff that I didn’t need to show than get an RFE for something I could have brought, but didn’t. Ymmv.

I was talking about updoing/sending documents with application. A good example is the tax return (for 5 years!). I am not aware if USCIS has mentioned the need to upload them?? But I have heard many people are suggesting it.

If it was needed, they could have put it as required or recommended such as GC.

For the interview, you can/should of course take anything with you, just in case. But attaching too many documents may just clog the work.

I did mine online, just uploaded what they asked for. I thought the question was about what to take to interview.

I never mentioned traffic citations. They don't care unless it was an arrest able offense.

No police record, unless you have had an arrest, and they know anyway!!

Lease?? It is not a condition of citizenship, you can live on the street, as long as you taxes are paid.

I think technically you should report all the traffic citation. There is a question have you EVER received a citation...

I've read that the main purpose is to check you have paid all of them.

I know some people who have passed by it, but the correct way to it is to write them. If you have a reliable answer against this, let me know :)

I agree.
Usually when I have seen this discussed in forums people have answered yes to traffic citations.

(and isn’t there a separate question about arrests?)

I think the main idea is that it is not up to the applicant to decide how important something is - if the answer is yes you say yes, and the IO can decide if it’s trivial for N400 or not.

I uploaded the bare minimum. Not a single additional document was uploaded. Mine was 3 year marriage based and still it did not ask for a lot to be uploaded. I brought everything with to the interview. And nothing was requested.
They go over all the questions with you again and they already have the answers, they just want to hear you say the same thing that they have on file. For me that was a speeding ticket I got after filing and before the interview. And the "weapons training" question. I have a concealed carry permit and did not realize that that was considered weapons training. It was obvious that they already knew I had it and just wanted me to say that. It was the most relaxed interaction (short of the oath ceremony) I have had with them.

Hi, did they know you have a concealed carry permit even when you never told them so? Thank you.

They didn't show me the file, but the way the questions were asked sure felt that way. These are state issued permits and I'm sure they have a database that links with the FBI. When you sign the N400 you basically tell them they are authorized to dig up any info out there.

How did you manage to get a CCW without being a citizen? I can only get purchase permits with my status of permanent resident.

Virginia allows it. Again something state specific.
