VJ timeline statistic updates & accuracy

Hello,

the VJ statistics have been consistently  showing NOA2 processing dates in the range of 12th-20th of January (receipt notice for NOA1) over the last 3 or 4 weeks for the California Center.. It therefore shows a very slow progression, which is consistent with all the news we get right now about visa handlings everywhere.

I was therefore very surprised to receive our NOA2 yesterday, as our NOA1 receipt date was February 3rd.

I immediately updated my timeline accordingly on VJ, and was expecting to see this reflected on the global VJ statistics, but this one is still showing January 21st for NOA2.

my question is the following: how do these statistics work? Do they measure an average date among all candidates who registered on VJ? Don’t they use the latest data update (ie February 3rd in my case)?...

I understand that those statistics are purely indicative, but If anyone has information about how they are calculated I would appreciate some clarification. I think it would help to better understand the possible “variances” in the next steps statistics (NVC, Consulate processing etc...).

thanks for your help!

Wow, sounds like you're one of the lucky ones! We are still waiting for our NOA2 and USCIS received our case on February 10th. We are hoping that we have our NOA2 before the furlough begins in August. We are crossing our fingers.

Congrats on being one step closer!

We are waiting too. Our Noa 1 is 19 February. I worry much it can be extended because of furlough....

I hope they make a deal before it happens and I hope yours comes through!
a few days ago I checked the statistics on this site and they were working on cases with noa1 dates of January 31st and today it’s noa dates of February 3rd so I’m feeling hopeful. Even if there is a furlough our paperwork is pretty damn close to the front of the line with feb paperwork being filed and being sent to the NVC (out of Uscis’ care) anyway so don’t be too discouraged!

What was your original forcast Noa2 date?   Perhaps this means a Noa1 date of March 5 is only a month away from Noa2 or maybe we will see some acceleration.. or this  virus spike may kill that dream..

Why didn't I make up my mind sooner with this woman?  Like after my July 2019 trip not finally in Feb 21

Of course  The Embassy in BKK has not been doing interviews for what 3 months so there will be that backlog  OMFG

I got my NOA-2 end of April 2020 and still waiting for my NOA-1 received letter. My expiration date is August 26, 2020 for my letter I got from the USCIS. I went on the website after I emailed the NVC. It's all automated and only responding to emergency filers like medical or death. They stated that they are short handed with the virus situation and will process as soon as possible. My fiancee has a young daughter and we are dealing with another country as well. Her father is from Sweden and he needs to get a signed and Thai stamped affidavit to give permission for his daughter to get a passport. Copenhagen is not allowing Swedish citizens into their country due to the Covid.   I do believe BKK embassy is way behind in interviews.  I can just say to anyone waiting on any process, be patient, get all your paperwork in order and enjoy the ride the best you can.
