Following accusations of widespread fraud, voter intimidation, and ballot theft in the May 12 municipal elections in Paterson, N.J., state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal (pictured) announced Thursday he is charging four men with voter fraud – including the vice president of the City Council and a candidate for that body.

With races still undecided, control of the council hangs in the balance. Paterson is New Jersey’s third largest city and the election will decide the fate of a municipal budget in excess of $300 million, in addition to hundreds of millions more in education spending and state aid.

Mail-in ballots have long been acknowledged by voting experts to be more susceptible to fraud and irregularities than in-person voting. This has raised concerns from President Trump and other Republicans about the integrity of national elections in November, which are expected to include a dramatic increase in mail-in ballots. If Paterson is any guide, it ought to concern Democrats as well.

Over 800 ballots in Paterson were invalidated for appearing in mailboxes improperly bundled together – including a one mailbox where hundreds of ballots were in a single packet. The bundles were turned over to law enforcement to investigate potential criminal activity related to the collection of the ballots.

 

The board of elections disqualified another 2,300 ballots after concluding that the signatures on them did not match the signatures on voter records.

Reporting by NBC further uncovered citizens of Paterson who are listed as having voted, but who told the news outlet they never received a ballot and did not vote. One woman, Ramona Javier, after being shown the list of people on her block who allegedly voted, told the outlet she knew of eight family members and neighbors who were wrongly listed. “We did not receive vote-by-mail ballots and thus we did not vote,” she said. “This is corruption. This is fraud.”

That's exactly what they mean.

 

These people have been masterful language manipulators engaging in pure gaslighting. We know how weak politicians easily go for it, but the mistake the populace makes is giving it a second of thought. The minute one caves at all on fundamental principles, they're asking for what the left do, which is to take it further and further.

 

The left engage in trying to psychologically make people think they're doing one thing while doing another right in your face. There's no compromise with this, it's a purely malicious tactic designed to give them their way. They want to see how much they can get away with targeted shutdowns while advancing their own causes. It's an experimental stepping stone of authoritarianism.

Gail Arlene Gray, 66, told an investigator she "did a terrible thing" but she was "really (angry) at my kids for not voting, none of them were voting and then that (ballot) came in the mail and I didn't even think, I thought I am going to vote for him..." according to an arrest affidavit released Thursday.

Gray was booked on a "quick book and release" at the Mesa County Jail and handed a $2,500 personal recognizance bond, meaning she could sign herself out of the jail.

Need to see through the left's gaslighting stall/misdirection tactics and prevent voter fraud from happening. 

 

I was always for easier ways to vote, since I never liked waiting in the lines, but the integrity of elections matters far more than convenience or the aforementioned tactics trying to use blacks as fodder for their voter fraud.

I have requested my mail-in ballot.  I am not going to stand in line to vote with the coronavirus being so bad right now,  If I were not given this opportunity I would not vote.  I have to protect myself first.

I don’t think anyone is arguing that one should not be allowed to request an absentee ballot.  The real issue is the states simply sending out ballots unsolicited to everyone listed on voter rolls that are less than perfect.  What happens if an LPR was mistakenly registered to vote when renewing a DL, and they received a ballot, people that have moved, do they get to vote multiple times, all the folks that have passed away, etc.  I know in MI, the Democrat Party is fighting to stop voting verification of mail in ballots, I.e. they should all simply be counted.  Voting is a personal responsibility, and if the voter does not feel comfortable voting in person, it is that voter that should put in a request for the ballot.

To me, yours is a very valid reason to vote by mail.  Hopefully it works out for you.

 

As a person who is voting by mail this year, I must admit that I am concerned that my intended vote will be properly counted.  Then again, it has been proven many times in the past that voting machines can be hacked, so in reality, we must all trust that the method we use is being handled by honest people.  I'm not overly confident that is the norm, however.
