We are trying! Russians cannot leave right now and any flight going to Mexico is through countries that they can’t travel through or need a visa even for transport. We are hopeful we will be able to have more Face time before an interview date  🤞🏼

You might want to double check the leaving part.  I have a friend who lives in America and just travelled to Odessa, Ukraine to meet his girlfriend who lives in Russia.    Its a popular beach town.  He would be familar with it.  Although as a Russian male it might be difficult for him to travel to Ukraine  because of their conflict.

Well follow GP1977, you NEED them for the Interview process.  Otherwise they may not truly think you met in person by their requirements.

I dont think they will question whether they met, but that they will question the validity of the relationship.   It will be more scrutinized.

PUt yourself in the CO's shoes from the outside and look at it objectively.

I think they can travel to surrounding areas like Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan etc. All the international flights have decreased dramatically and the flights from St. Petersburg to anywhere in Mexico go through EU or even USA .. which aren’t going to work.

so yeah I’m a little nervous about the interview since I know the burden of proof is on us to show tangible evidence of the relationship.

It almost makes me wish we met on line or had some form of contact before we met. But it is what it is.

Found love, thought I wanted this path, two years later realized my partner was not worth all the stress 😁

I'm waiting for Russia to open back up so I can go there. It's frustrating ☹️

The good news is... I have proof of attempted meetings even if they never happened. I tried to buy 2 more cruises to go see him before they were cancelled, and he bought FOUR tickets to come see me on his B2 tourist visa but all the flights were cancelled.

As a CO I would look at that and think there was some more validity.

I know your doing your best and it's sad we have to deal with these conditions.  I hope and pray everything finds a way for you both! ❤️

Thank you so much for the kind words. I will keep everyone updated and hopefully we will find some type of way to meet again to have some more face time together. ❤️

That certainly helps!  Ultimately I think you will be okay, it will just get more scrutiny.

THe good news is that you have alot of time to get some photos together.

The other good news is that a K1 visa is alot easier to get than a B2 visa for a Russian as the B2 visa has a much higher denial rate than that of a K1.

Thanks so much for your words of advice. I really appreciate it!!

That’s interesting! I didn’t realize that. I read somewhere that previous B2 denials will not have any merit on K1 eligibility. His three year B2 visa JUST expired this week 😩 we tried to even use that to get him to come see me. I’m going to find a way! Lol

that's correct b2 denials dont effect a k1 visa.

But denial rates for B2's are much higher than those for K1's.

Ugh! I am with you on wanting Russia to open up, I would love to go there and see him for a few weeks! Hopefully we won’t wait forever 😩 I made a judgement call to go ahead and get the forms in the system before we had any more time together hoping we could figure out a way.

Hi! May I ask why you say it’s easier after the NOA2? It seems the interview will be hardest in my case... I felt pretty prepared with all of my 129-F forms though.

I agree. I think the interview might be the hardest in my case as well

You will find a way don't worry. I read somewhere that it might open to Americans by September
