Hi! My fiancé and I submitted our I-129F in July 2020 and received our NOA1 a few days after submitting our application. We still haven't heard about our NOA2 yet and it's been about 9 months and from what I've read, that seems like it's a pretty long time. Has anyone else experienced delays for the NOA2? Any help is appreciated! My fiancé and I have been apart for months and I'm sure we're not the only ones during these times. 😔

Thanks!

You should really inquire on USCIS website. They are already processing September filers. Go on there website and send an inquiry for "out of normal processing times"

Thanks for your response! I actually did inquire on the USCIS website and they responded to us saying that they are adjudicating our application and will get back to us within 45 days. We're at the 30 day mark (I was reading that some people usually heard pretty soon after), but just nervous that we won't hear back around that 45 day mark. Do you know if we don't hear back by that 45 day mark, that we should inquire again? I'm just a little worried since it's been awhile. It's odd because my fiancé and I definitely have a bonafide relationship since we met in college and have been dating for 10 years now, so we definitely did provide sufficient evidence.

receive email on 4/5 from nvc stating k1 is sending to consulate at China. receive notice on 02/8 so it took about 2 month from Vermont to foreign embassy

You’recase is in transit? That’s great news. Most cases are stuck at NVC still

Hi! My fiancé and I are on the same boat. NOA1 is from July 2nd and up to today we still have not heard back from USCIS, we also submitted a case inquiry and are at day 33. Our lawyer says that we just need to wait until we reach day 45 and that if by that date there is not an answers, we could send a second request and reach out to our congressmen. The waiting is killing us, we are very anxious and really hope this nightmare is over soon. I believe we may have one more year before he can come to the US.

We unfortunately just heard that we received an RFE and now just waiting to see what additional information USCIS needs in order for us to get our NOA2. If you don't mind me asking, did you have to send in a lot of additional information? It's so strange because my fiancé and I met at university and have been dating for 10 years and it's a little concerning that they'd even need additional information to approve our application. It's just very frustrating.

Our RFE was for if my fiancé and I met through an IMB (international marriage broker) - the question we received was 'Did you meet through one? Yes/No - if yes, they needed additional paperwork. Since we didn't (Tinder/MeetMe/Skout are NOT IMBs) we didn't submit anything additional.

Unless you have the actual RFE that was mailed you don't know what it is. It could be a missed question, proof that you've met within two years, intent to marry, ability to marry (those last 3 usually require additional information).

Also, while it is important to be thorough in your response don't send it too quick unless you're sure you've given them everything they asked for.

Also, its total luck of the draw between how soon they receive it and approve/decide on your case. I've seen it updated within a week, but some like ours, have gone 45 days waiting on our agents desk. May the odds be ever in your favor!

No ... not yet, we only just got the paper version of the NOA2 yesterday in the mail.

Thank you for letting me know, I hope that whatever the cause is that it will be easy to solve!

Just wanted to give an update, but today, nearly a month after our case was returned to USCIS, we FINALLY got the notification that we have been sent an RFE. Still waiting on the letter to know what it is we're missing, but I'm curious to see what it is especially since it was inconspicuous enough for us to get approved in the first place. I was hoping for an immediate reaffirmation, but hey I'll take whatever correspondence I can get! Hoping that USCIS picks up their glacial pace a bit this time around and approves it quickly after I send it in. Yay!

We got our hard copy of our RFE today. Turns out I messed up in the chaos of printing everything and never sent in page 7 of the i-129f. I'm amazed that it made it past the USCIS adjudicator the first time around and was actually approved. Seems like a pretty easy catch lol. After we were approved and sent back to USCIS from the NVC I went through my scan of our submission and noticed it wasn't in there. Was really hoping that it was just me being dumb with scanning and that I actually included the page in the submission. Guess we know now!
