We received an RFE yesterday and our receipt date is July 30th. Not the news we were hoping for, but honestly so happy to at least see some movement!

Hi everyone. We finally received the RFE and they require proof of legal termination of marriage and proof of US citizenship.

I’m not sure how to provide proof of legal termination of marriage since I have never been married before. Is it possible they mixed up the names? Can anyone suggest how we go about responding to this? Thanks! C92DA445-E473-4289-B8E0-E293C5FC7C41.thumb.jpeg.15ff32853ecce6ec068fd497cfda0afb.jpeg

It says the beneficiary. Are you the beneficiary? They are looking for a certificate of divorce between the beneficiary and the other person. I have heard that people have made a mistake and checked off the wrong box and checked off the box that says you were married before. Do you have a copy of your petition? If so, look it over and see if that might be what happened.

Also it seems like they want another Letter of Intent to Marry. Did you include one in the original petition from both of you? If you did, just resubmit another one from you both

Yes I am the beneficiary. We looked through our petition and didn't check off any boxes that indicate I was married before. We did send a letter of intent to marry in the original petition but will resend that again. Thanks!

wow! This is strange. I'm not sure how Canada works, but can you get any kind of document saying you have never been married? Also, maybe copies of any kind of government forms you have submitted where you listed that you were single?

Found love, thought I wanted this path, two years later realized my partner was not worth all the stress 😁

Perhaps from the background check something came up of a previous marriage? Your country should be able to give you (from your local embassy) a document that proves you are single. I had to provide this in Spain (got it at US Embassy) and my fiance also had to provide it to the Spanish government (local Romanian embassy in Spain provided it to him). They may have a name of something like Single Status Affidavit.

Hey Guys, I sent an inquiry last week due to outside processing time about our case and got a reply today.

It states that I am not authorized for information on the case because I am not the petitioner/applicant or legal representative.

Has anyone got this before? I am the applicant.

Still no update on our NOA 2.

Has anyone else received this error on their NOA2 where it says "It is noted that this is your second approved petition" when you've never filed an I-129F before? I'm going to call USCIS on Monday and try to have them correct it.

Did you manage to contact them?
