JULY 2020 I-129F K-1 FILERS

For those who have just filed your I-129f application with USCIS, this thread has been created for your needs and for you to be with others experiencing various aspects of this journey. This is a place to ask questions and to share experiences. We are all here to learn together. Good luck and have patience, because this is a lengthy process currently running 5-6 months from filing date to your NOA2 approval.

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/K1_Process_V11.pdf

Also, since your application will go through several background checks this is a primer on what goes on with the background process.

I know it really sucks, but the best way to get through this is to lower your expectations and try not to compare your timeline to anyone else's. Don't forget that the people here on Visa Journey represent a tiny percentage of all the petitions the CSC must work through! When someone gets to your file, you'll hear from them. Stay busy, talk a lot with your fiancé about non-visa stuff, don't forget to hang out with your friends, take up a new hobby, go to a sporting event, and your time will come! Good luck

Explanation why is it taking so long.

Hello!

First time posting on VJ but I have been following along for a few months. Gathering info and documents from various threads.  Getting ready to file next week and I won't lie, I'm a little nervous. I hope all the info I gathered was enough.

But I am triple checking my paperwork to make sure I don't miss anything.

Welcome to the July thread. Use the guides from the blue ribbon to insure you have everything needed for your submission of the I-129f, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e). Go to the blue ribbon above, select "guides" then "immigration guides" scroll and select the K-1.  Looks like this Guides if you are engaged:  K1 Fiancé Visa Guide.

Also,

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Country and Visa Type: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RyJiLo_7WTmqvkzXXqLuOlVHm9oyhAES/view?usp=sharing

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Thanks for the warm welcome! Feels good to actually talk to someone about all this. I think I  filled in the missing info stated above but I had a question about the VJ Timeline. I wouldn't fill that in until I actually send it and receive NOA1 first right?

Thank you for completing your profile. Yes, you will make your first entry with the date you send your I-129f, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e). Then with each milestone you complete another entry. Then your information will be added to others and if you use the tabs in the blue ribbon from above, you'll see timelines from others. Try it now and see what you can find. Also, select your flag in your profile and down you will go "in the rabbit hole". Find out what's on the other side. Psssst lots of goodies for your journey. Good luck and stay engaged.

I have seen mentioned a few times that TOS for online dating wasn't usually sent for some people unless you get an RFE. We met on the website Tagged and I did print out the TOS but was wondering whether to include this or not?

That is a obscure website and the IO may not know much about it. I would send it along to avoid an RFE. But I still advocate not to frontload your application with "stuff" that is unnecessary. Go to the I-129f, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) USCIS website and look for the check list of documents they are requesting you include in your packet.

Just checked the USPS tracking on our petition, and it was delivered to the Dallas lockbox this morning.

That's great! Mine says it should get there on Wednesday.

I sent my K1 Visa package in on June 29th for overnight delivery.  Shows they received it on June 30th.  I got notification from USCIS they received it VIA txt on Thursday, July 9th.  I'm guessing the delay is due to the VIRUS.

The Independence Day weekend probably slowed it down more than anything

There can be a whole host of reasons to the delay. First was it a delay. Normal advisal time is 2-3 weeks from submittal. You fell right in line with that yardstick. As mentioned, there was a federal holiday involved. Good luck and stay engaged.

I sent mine a few days after you. My guess is my notice will be next week or so.

I sent mine in yesterday, July 13th. I live in a suburb outside of Dallas so it says it should be delivered by tomorrow, hopefully!

Mine took about 5-6 days because of the holiday and weekend lol I didn't overnight it or anything either so that probably slowed it down some
