Visas issued by post - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/immigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-immigrant-visa-issuances.html

June stats have been released and everywhere is doing CR1/IR1 visas except JHB. This includes Brazil and India who's numbers are way above ours.

@April M Kenya has processed CR1/IR1 visas in June (Nairobi) maybe worth enquiring again on your case. If I understand correctly you're in Kenya?

😡 Apparently they had time to do 2 diversity visas though... if you really want to lose your mind, check out how many non-immigrant visas were issued last month. I could scream. These people issued 612 non-immigrant visas. 612. That is 612 interviews conducted face to face. And here I thought my opinion could go no lower...

At this point, our best bet seems to be getting our spouses jobs as farm laborers. 😒

I keep inquiring and they keep telling me to check back. They even state we qualify but make us wait. I don't know what else to do.

I have noticed that there are no dates set out yet for repatriation flights to and from the USA to SA - https://www.flysaa.com/za/en/repatriation.action

Has anyone else noticed and do you think this is somehow linked to the process ?

SAA isn't doing many it seems here's the latest ones on the consulates website with other airlines. There's lots going at the moment and they've been consistent throughout lockdown. These are normal commercial flight routes as well but they're being used for repatriation only at the moment. I've seen a few for Turkey as well

Yes I have noticed SAA hasn't posted flight to Washington in a while as normally the repatriation flights are from SA( CPT OR JHB to Washington) and I have noticed that there are none scheduled ?

I'd think it's due to the whole bailout debacle with SAA at the moment.

Medical is schedule for Monday morning, once I have the results I can schedule my interview. They may be doing expedites first, but not sure on that. Anyone else get a request to book medical and interview? Will let you guys know how the medical goes - it's Cape Town doctor, but the Consulate did the option of both JHB and CPT. They look to be doing interview scheduling once you have everything together including your medical results.

Hi all,

Apologies for only updating you guys now but I've been running around like crazy.

I got a call from the Consulate on Thursday. A very friendly lady asked me to book a medical with the Cape Town doctor and let her know when I get an appointment with him. I called his office and was able to get an appointment for the next day (Friday morning) after which I contacted the lady who called me to let her know. She was able to schedule my interview for Wednesday (5 August). I've running around gathering all the documents and  finally managed to get everything together.

I will keep you guys updated and let you know what happens on Wednesday!

Nice!  Good luck for Wednesday I hope I get my interview that soon as well. You're flying to JHB from Cape Town could you let me know what permit you got for travel and how your flight was?
